Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Sometimes it's good to just enjoy the classics. But in all seriousness, we bring someone in to coach, give them the players they can grab that they think will suit them best, then punt the coach and bring new players in that they think will suit them, then punt the coach.
that’s why the Benji needs the sack talk makes me laugh honestly
haven’t we been through this enough

Each situation is unique …

Do you have the real confidence that Benji and this coaching staff will sufficiently improve next season to make much of a difference with how the expected team is looking now?

Honestly,,,you would have to say it’s more hope than expectation…

have we statistically improved year on year?

Our attack, particularly our attack in the red zone has been 90% disgraceful for the past 2 weeks.
Regardless of stats or an improved defensive resolve, I cannot consider it improvement when our attack is poor at this late stage of the season.
Them you have our playing talent who I think are mostly giving their best, but simply don’t have anymore to give.
If the deficiencies in our playing talent and the overall balance of our team cannot be identified, then what chance do we have of improving next season ?

I understand it’s frustrating, I just don’t believe sacking the coach (for the 94&50302th time) is the answer at the moment.
It’s not ideal, but the truth is we don’t have a coach at all. Besides, we release player after player under contract. What’s sacking another coach who had no business being in the role anyway.

vicious - past two weeks is the key point. Who’s our most attacking threats ? Bula and jarome. Our red zone attack has been poor because we’ve had one 5/8 leave mid way through the year where the attack centred around so we’ve essentially had to start again - and then on top of that you take Luai out of the team and it’s obviously going to be a mess. I’m sorry but you take DCE, Hughes, Reynolds etc out of those teams and they would be just as clunky. We’ve seen how brooks runs a team.

those decisions may of been richo’s and the board though not Benji

Luai and Bula both played against the Raiders at Campbelltown,
We are are incapable of an early shift to prevent opposing teams from jamming in on us because we have no speed or long distance attacking threat out wide.
None of our forwards are running the ball at speed,
Our overall kicking game is atrocious.
What more can go wrong ?

Our roster from the outset of the season was always bottom three even with the recruits we made during the off season. You will gain nothing by sacking another coach and probably upset half the team. We need another influx of about four quality players between now and round one 2026. If than Benji still fails to deliver it’s time to look elsewhere. No one is calling for uncle Wayne’s head and Souths are struggling with arguably a far better roster than ours. Coaches play a part but the quality of your roster is the no1 ingredient in success

they’re a top two team we got 4 points away 😂 perspective matters.
we can shift because that got us back into the game with the cowboys.
we just seem to be lacking polish and execution that’s my takeaway

Part of it is down to the players we have.

However, we don't play to the same structures as the rest of the NRL. It's mostly eyes up footy, which works horribly when the key spine players are missing. Watch how the top teams ie Melbourne, Penrith play without their key players. The structure remains the same. We don't play with a 13 and often it's some random prop playing first receiver playing it out the back.

Since Sheens took over our attack has been this slow passing from side to side thing that doesn't challenge good NRL sides and it's why we rarely get the ball to our wingers in space. This is less to do with our roster and more to do with our game plans.

This is coaching.
