Round 18 v Roosters

Struggling to pick a team that has even an outside chance of winning
Reason is we have very little depth !
When is that last time Richo has fronted the camera s to discuss our
Recruitment and Retention as we stand today and what are the plans going forward ?
KPP only for nextyear
Taylan only available for NRL ? Whenever ? Is that it ?
Barring that I will confine selection to only players who have proven they are capable of performing at NRL level !
1.Sunia Turuva ( can catch a high ball )
2. Charlie Staines
3. Starford Toa
4.Brent Naden ( needs to step up and perform like he has in the past )
5.Jeral Skelton
6.Adam Douehi (c)
7.Latu Fainu
8.Terrel May
9.Tristan Hope ( this one not NRL proven but no other options )
10.Fonua Pole
11.Samuela Fainu
12 Sione Fainu
13.Alex Seyfarth
14. Jack Bird
15 . Royce Hunt ( capable of a lot more than he's shown )
16. Tony Sukkar ( not convinced yet just hoping )
17. Alex Twal

Roosters will have a few out 4 or ( 5 due to origin )
If all give 110% we can win !

how many chances does Nado get. seriously, he isn't first grade standard . Give one of the better reggie performers a go. Example the winger I and shift Skelton into the centres.

1. Lauilili
2. Turuva
3. Toa
4. Skelton
5. Staines
6. Douihei
7. Fainu
13. Twal
12. Seyfarth
11. Fainu
10. Pole
9. Hope
8. May

14. Bird
15. Hunt
16. Sukkar
17. S Fainu
18. Naden
19. Izac Tui
20. Kit Lauilili
There is at best a 55 min competitive team there, and it's a flogging for the rest 🫣😮‍💨

As of right now...

1. Lualili'i
2. Turuva
3. To'a
4. Taylan May
5. Skelton
6. Doueihi
7. Latu Fainu
13. Terrell May
12. Bird
11. Sukkar
10. Sione Fainu
9. Hope
8. Samuela Fainu

14. Charlie Murray
15. Twal
16. Seyfarth
17. Royce Hunt or Jaxson Rahme
Monday update, Taylah May/no coz he didn’t even start KOE, Bird/bench only imo, Terrell May/ prop only, Hunt/ definitely.
What’s it matter, I’m just moving the deck chairs on the Titanic. We have little chance of winning without API, Romey, Pole etc etc etc.

What happened to Pole

There’s a lot not to like about that team. Not that is any fault of yours Steve. But Doobie as captain just shites me, he has no team first ethics. What about TMay as captain instead? I reckon he’d love it, and might re-energise him to really dominate with some big runs and hits.

Likely Roosters side, forward pack decimated by SOO & injury.

1. James Tedesco 2. Daniel Tupou 3. Billy Smith 4. Mark Nawaqanitawase 5. Tom Rodwell 6. Sandon Smith 7. Hugo Savala

8.Naufahu Whyte 9. Benaiah Ioelu 10. Makahesi Makatoa 11. Egan Butcher 12. Salesi Foketi 13. Blake Steep

14. Zach Dockar-Clay 15. Taylor Losalu 16. De La Salle Vaa 17. Junior Tupou

Key matchups for mine are:

Skelton v Daniel Tupou
Our left centre (Naden) v Nawaqanitawase

I think we can win this with our bench especially if big Royce is back on it.

Benji has to give a job to Naden & Royce in this. Naden to blanket Marky Mark & Royce to bring out the destruction like he did against the Roosters reserves last week.

Possibly Pauga or even Tupou in the centres with Marky Mark on the wing.

Yea, but look...
Any team you take out their top players and they will look barren.

Newcastle - Ponga and best... no win.
Manly - DCE and Turbo, no win.
Penrith - Cleary and Yeo... no win.

only a few teams will ever have that depth to loose key players... :
Storm just breed them. Brisbane has 10,000 juniors lying around. Easts find them.. etc

We have really lost Galvin, Luai and Bula. We are going to look barren, that's just life.

The real problem is we started the year with 2 forward recruits after loosing 4 forwards. May has been a godsend, but we really needed another forward.
Also depends on the teams you play when your better players are out.

Wow-I would love a roster like that for decimated team. They would beat our full roster team IMO.

Let's be fair- nobody likes what we are likely trotting out this week....but...

Losing TDS isn't going to impact this at all.

Bula, Luai & Api all out- even with TDS, it's a struggle.

I do wonder if Kurt Falls might get a look. His best asset is his kicking game. In a game where we are likely to lack much in the way of direction, I can see how Falls might at least steer the team around the field.

Latu could play at 5/8 & Doueihi to fullback to chime in as the 3rd ball playing option.

Could play Skelton at centre and have Lualili'i on the wing outside him- giving you 3 early hit up options along with Turuva.

Field position will be absolutely vital.

Only reason for giving Douehi the (c) was that he was clearly our best player last week and our other captains are out .
Better the direct play from halves than the front row
