Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Mason has been struggling for confidence and not running the ball enough himself over the past few weeks.
The problem with that is his running game is his strength and he has been looking unsure and clunky when trying to create for others.
However we have plenty of other highly paid fan favourites who have been creating sweet fa in attack themselves, yet they never get criticised ?
Api tries his heart out, but he misses a high amount of tackles every week, he’s clearly not an 80minute player and he’s definitely not a halfback.
Can you honestly tell me that Api at halfback was any better than Heath Mason in the first half last week ? Surely you can’t as Api was totally lost, he looked extremely clunky and done nothing for us as a 7.
I know Api didn’t select himself at 7, so it’s master Benji’s fault, but let’s not sugar coat the real issues.
Players are getting moved around to much but the worst part players are in the wrong spot , Staines , Turuva , AD , Lobb all could have played fullback but Benji selected the smallest guy who is not a fullback , coaches to be blames mostly , and again Lobb should be fullback this week leaving Turuva in his NORMAL position , test Lobb out simple , apparently went very well last week in reserves so give him a crack , Bulla has been bog average for weeks when on the field , he is a shadow of last year

have you actually seen lobb play ? he’s not first grade standard and not a fullback, just doing a job there while Luke’s been out

It doesn’t help when we release players over and over and don’t replace them. However I still think our cattle is better than 6 losses in a row. I’m not sure how much longer we can hang our hat on that when we have multiple players in our team that have won multiple premierships.
Agree , I feel last week Benji should have gone with Staines of Lobb at fullback and try and leave players in their correct position , Turuva has been good leave him on the wing , Mason was always going to be up against it , he is just to small for fullback and to lite coming back out with the pill

Yes I’ve seen him but putting him at fullback and he had a cracker last week would help leave players in their normal position , our team is shuffled way to much and Benji admitted he moved players all game , that’s pathetic coaching when you don’t need to do it , even Staines at fullback and, but agin this week we move Turuva who has been good out of position , dumb move again , Lobb or Staines could do it this week , Roosters are a side with players missing so we are a chance , actually I think we will win this game , but get players playing in position in the nrl team and fill in the rest Eg
Fullback this week - Options - Staines - AD. - Lobb , me I’m Lobb and AD in Halves ,

What boggles my mind is noone is mentioning that imo Api should have told Benji he will go to the bench and help Tallyn along and take a paycut to make it happen so the club won't lose a 10 year first grader. Isn't that what leaders do. Unless there more behind the scenes we don't know about and the club wanted Tallyn out.
Da Silva wanted a first grade guarantee and big money (now on $650k+ at Parra).
Sounds like a big headed kid with pushy parents.
Remind you of anyone?

He's a professional footballer not a sop to a millenial's ego.
I understand that, he's more than entitled to do as he pleases, though as a club captain I'd hope he would put a bit of effort into keeping the kid with a bit of compromise. The way it's starting to look, either there was something behind the scenes and we wanted Tallyn gone. Or the media are right there's a clique with Benji and if your not a part of it your no hope.

You might be right, no way he's worth that, I think both Tallyn and Api should have met somewhere in the middle, they both would have been happy. Api comes off the bench, Tallyn does his time and earn his stripes. Just would love to know why so many of our juniors come through with a sense of entitlement.

Doesn’t remind me of anyone. Richo said himself they weren’t going to stand in his way of playing first grade. Benji had him in reserve grade.

Don’t say that about Bula around here.
Some think he is a superstar, thoroughly deserves his pay increase to 900k and probably should have been selected to play for Queensland next week ahead of Tabuai-Fidow and Reece Walsh.

Every one has their own opinion and mine is simple , Bulla is not going as well as last season he would be about 60% of last season and seems injured a lot , I don’t care what people think of my opinion as it’s only my opinion , Bulla when on the filed this year has been just ok

Don't think he said it for a reason?
You think after all these years of being ruthless Richo suddenly got soft hearted? 🙄
PS Played firsts last week and would have again this week.

Who’s Bulla?

Benji played him in 11 out of 15 games in first grade this season. Doesn't sound like he had him in reserve grade at all.

Cos of injuries. Someone posted last night that once Marshall black balls you there is no going back. And that attitude certainly fits the way the TDS situation played out.

Bloody ridiculous.. maybe good for a triathlete but footy ability on the field should be way more important than how “hard” you train .. bloody obvious
Do you realise we have scored 4 tries in our past 2 games ?
Seyfarth has scored 2 of them and created a 3rd.
So if he wasn’t there we effectively would have scored 1 try in our last 2 games, but he’s our biggest problem ?

Yes and he’s like a fish out of water when asked to play halfback.
Plenty want to blame Heath Mason for last weeks debacle where we had no idea what we were doing iin attack until Doueihi stepped into the halves midway through the 2nd half, but if we want to stop playing favourites it was Api having no idea what he was doing at 7 which was the main reason why our attack looked so lost.
Mason was bad but he's not ready and he should never have been picked.

You're right about Api, but Tallyn's service was horrible.

We were thrown a curveball by Luai pulling out so late, but almost every decision Benji made around the starting side turned out to be the wrong one.

Api to half => mistake
Mason back in the team instead of Staines => mistake
Tallyn to start given he was about to leave => mistake
Laulilli on the bench => arguable - worked out okay when Skelton went off but I still believe Staines would have been a safer option

You could say hindsight is 20/20 but a lot of people were saying this before the game. The only positive was that he eventually realised his mistakes.

Laulilli in the centres this week will be the latest mistake.
