As Lestronge mentioned- Tartak has a good relationship with the Tigers. He had a great opportunity to strike a bigger deal for one of his clients & the Tigers didn't stand in his way.

Swings & roundabouts....what if another Tartak client not playing regular 1st grade can secure a deal at the Tigers? Someone like Jason Saab for instance?

I’ve said previously that years ago teams would not stand in front of a player that could likely play first grade elsewhere. It’s a gentleman’s act and fair
But times have changed

How he’s handled it is a reflection of his character and I commend him for it

I don’t wish others ill but I do hope karma bites them. Much like Aaron woods- lost rep jumper and drifted to a non starter at every team he moved to
Woodsy went from a potential leadership position with the AUS team to playing Wentworthville in 2-3 years . But yea nah …. It’s all the tigers fault …. That guy has an IQ of a sponge .

I will say this though . TDS is not up to nrl standard based on his last few performances with us , notably last weekend . You can say it’s because he had one foot out the door yea maybe , but man … sure it’s in your contract, but do you honestly deserve it ? Do these players understand these contracts are mutual agreement for a set outcome ie. you play well and you get position X . They’re not you get position X. And where does it say the playing bit , it’s in the generic terms and conditions of every nrl contract . It’s really annoying …..

Why is this forum obsessed with talking about players who have left the club? I get it with Brooks because it was a decade long of losing, but with these other players, once they leave they're dead to me.
Because there is an element of those that thrive on negativity and criticism. They would look for holes even if we were coming 1st.
I can understand people being disillusioned but to criticise every move the club makes without having an inkling of why or wherefore does my head in. More than half of what they say is just to spite anyone who sees a glimmer of hope. Also, interesting to see some long-time negative junkies reappear recently to add to the pile on.
Have loved the club in its two iterations since 69, and yes have been quite disillusioned at times. I made a conscious decision a couple of years ago to not take it so hard as I can't determine anything to do with the success of the club. As much I love supporting them, it's just a game at the end of the day.

Great comment and I agree with it all entirely!

It’s also the media pile on that adds to it.

Let’s list the names of stars that were moved on from the Panthers mid contract!
Lewis
Jennings
Gordon
Coote
Moylan
DWZ
RCG
Blake

Losing Gun Juniors;
Burton
Katoa
Smith

Ilongi.
Also Liam Ison should get a mention.

I actually think it was around Tartak , and how much players he has at our club , as well as others. This felt like a you scratch my back I’ll scratch yours scenario .
That’s my opinion . I can see some big re-signings coming up , as well as maybe some “left field” disgruntled players whose manager is Tartak … coincidentally
The young prop who played off the interchange for the Dragons, Villiami Fifita, looks a good prospect and is a Tartak managed player. He would be a great addition to our 17.

Danny Levi; come on down!

I think he’s still a couple of pre-seasons off being physically ready.

How do you make this stand up in Court? Because he posted a couple of emoji’s? I think it was a dig personally. Not the end of the world, but it a dig nonetheless. But there is a significant amount of deniability if the club really felt slighted. Would be really petty tbh.
If only we still had a top flight lawyer as our chairman. 🤣

I actually think the issue is a wests jrl one at its core . And really ties in with the fact wests tigers has failed to capture the hearts and minds of the south west. This compiled with an idea that west Sydney, particularly the southwest, is somewhere to “escape”, means kids in the area don’t have the same , I want to say loyalty , but I don’t think that’s the right word , but it’s more maybe desire and loyalty , to stick with the club.
Even though really the club is 50km up the road.
I know growing up around Liverpool , all I ever need to do was escape . And the idea of spending my life in west Sydney was depressing to the point , that there was. Erp chance is ever going to do it .
And that idea occupied many conversations growing up with people around me . It may be anecdotal and unique to myself . But I don’t think so .
I think it all ties into it. Kids in the shire will ride the bench and wait their turn , because they’re going home to mum and dad’s house 10 minutes from the beach .
Penrith has done an amazing job , galvanising the area and team to take pride not only in the jersey and club , but the area itself , and it being an attractive place to set up your life . As much as I personally disagree . I’m not from there , so I’m not the one to ask.
The viewing of wests and by extension wests tigers as a stepping stone to somewhere else , has to be the elephant in the room .
This is the mindset we need to break . And unfortunately both wests and Balmain and HBG have been amateur hour and obviously haven’t given off the aura of professionally run clubs , so it’s hard to to disagree with kids and family members having these bias.
After we won the premiership , I was hoping that that would have been a springboard for change , but 20 years on , only now are we starting push out fossils with old allegiances to a time when being the underdog was cool. Kids don’t want that anymore , they want to train in adidas gear provided by the club , n perfect facilities , where they can have a sauna and ice bath after , and get driven home in either their club assigned car if old enough , or the clubs courtesy bus of choice .
We are extremely late to the party. And these kids heads have been turned. No surprise to me TDS has left .
I just also in saying all that , don’t think he was worth swapping api for . Not even a little bit .
Hmm.

I grew up in Macarthur and moved to Bankstown later. I always kinda idealized Campbelltown/Macarthur as a good part of sydney. Not as something rich but just a nice part.

I kinda wanted to escape bankstown, I kinda liked it. Right now I would be at home around Cabramatta with dirt cheap restaurants serving sydney's best food. In the naughties those restaurants had tiles broken and paint stripping off the sides. Now they have really nice but cheap refurbushments and
Sydney's best food.

Look, I get the intellectuals moving out. I get the people moving to the Cross or inner west for a different lifestyle. But we have boutique bars out west and affordible housing..

Ha ha that restaurant still exists in five dock .. Simply the best...a Chinese restaurant was there the other week go for the chili beef

One of the most interesting nights I have had in a restaurant in I a long time and a tv was on and people watching the game

And the owner is a Chinese guy who says welcome home to everyone

And he's in his 70's and you have to experience it but he is everywhere all at once it's like time slows down felt like being in a time machine

Cabramatta has improved out of sight. No longer street gangs and drug dealers on every corner. I remember being with my mum when I was about 6 years old and someone trying to sell her heroin. Different world there these days.
