Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Doueihi is off to the "Red V" - so the fans have a bigger bum to target than Kyle....

Good riddance to the entitled prick! He's gonna cop some heat at the Dragqueens!

Yet some dopes on here still would have preferred to hire this twice banned drug/cap cheating bum Flanagan (who is managed by Moses) FFS!!

If it's not Drags, it'll be NQ or Manly - all coached by Moses clients.

Isaac still pushing his anti Benji beef in the media.

Clowns.

ORIGIN STAR ON THE OUTER

He is the Queensland Origin squad member without a home for 2026.

Dolphins prop Josh Kerr has been shopped to the Broncos as the Redcliffe cult hero looks to continue his career in the NRL next season.

Kerr has been rewarded for his brilliant recent run of form, named as Queensland’s 19th man for the Origin decider against NSW this Wednesday night in Sydney.

Despite his addition to Camp Maroon this week, Kerr remains off-contract at the Dolphins and salary-cap pressures threaten to squeeze him out of Redcliffe.

Dolphins coach Kristian Woolf is keen to keep Kerr but the 29-year-old is exploring the open market as a free agent.

His management have offered his services to the Broncos but it’s understood Brisbane bosses have no plans to make a formal play for the athletic Indigenous All Stars forward.

Kerr has amassed 108 NRL games since his debut for the Dragons in 2019 and has produced some outstanding performances over the past two years for the Dolphins.

Kerr is happy at the Dolphins but made it clear recently he won’t be short-changed as he looks to secure his NRL future.

“We’ve had chats with my manager and missus and that too, I’m very happy and comfortable here. It’s my junior club, I want to see it succeed.

“However, I’ve done the thing in the past where I thought I was playing for love at a club but you learn very quickly it’s a business and they don’t really give a shit.

“There’s a difference between loving a club and wanting to play for it and them having a look at that and taking advantage of that.

“I’m never going to be put in that position ever again and as hard as it could be (to leave) … I want to stay, but I will never do that again.

“I will never be that person that gets taken advantage of by a club ever again, that’s something I’m very strong on.”

BRONCOS GO COLD ON STORM HULK

Storm grand-final prop Tui Kamikamica’s rumoured move to the Broncos has fallen through, opening the door for an English Super League move.

Sport Confidential revealed a fortnight ago that Kamikamica’s manager had offered his services to the Broncos for next season to bolster their front-row stocks following the exit of Martin Taupau.

Broncos coach Michael Maguire was open to the idea and did some due diligence with Brisbane’s recruitment-and-retention team.

But the Broncos have opted not to make an offer for the off-contract prop, who played in last year’s grand final against Penrith and is captain of the Fijian national team.

The Storm are battling salary-cap pressures but have not given up hope of retaining the monstrous 31-year-old, who may have to take a pay cut on his current deal of around $400,000 to stay in Melbourne.

Kamikamica had all-but sewn up a deal with South Sydney but coach Wayne Bennett was forced to abandon his pursuit due to salary-cap constraints.

Warrington coach Sam Burgess is understood to be keen on the hulking Fijian and could win his services if the Storm are unable to come to terms with the 126-game veteran.
Josh Kerr....yes please.

Still think we need 5  external recruits.

with some comings and goings, some internal upgrades, etc.

1 back up hooker - Brendan Hands [Parramatta]
1 x Experienced forward - Tyson Frizzell [Knights]
1 x damaging young backrower - Kayliss Fatialofa
1 x bench prop - Lazarus Vaalepu
1 x depth prop - Trey Mooney, Villiami Fifita

Internally;
Izaac Tui'Tupou
Krystian Mapapalangi
Charlie Staines [extended]

Should see us shape a better, well rounded top 30
You wouldn't throw Josh Papalii a bone?

Him and Frizell would be solid for.our pack.

We didn't try everything with Moses.
Ivan prioritised others and then let him go.
Was it Ivan or JT?

I thought MM was going and to be honest from the statements he said, he sounded like he wanted to leave.

I can't remember if we had removed the offer for Woods and Teddy by the time Ivan was coach... or maybe Ivan had just signed.

I would immediately look to grab Papalli from the Raiders & look at Kerr. Both would be quality and give us grunt up front. Fafita wouldn’t be bad as well. We are 2 props short atm plus Kerr can play backrow at a pinch.

Our starting forwards are doing ok depth sucks those moves solve it.

If AD leaves or not we need a center

We also need halves depth especially if AD leaves and Bud doesn’t come back.

Just seems like the missing piece, a solid, experienced leader type forward.

Luai and Juniour Paulo are very close friends but he's locked in till 2028 or something.

Frizz has a good friendship with Benji, so I thought it could be an option.

We can't really be turning down players like Papalii, but he is at the end of his career you'd think.

Fair post.

I think AD leaves 100% and our club shouldn't be dealing with Isaac Moses any more.

Hoping Taylan fills the gap at centre and depending on what Bud does, we do need a back up half.... mentioned him before but the lad playing at Ipswich Dion Teupua is one who got away, from our ranks, he could do a job also as a backup option. Played a few first grade games at South's.

What a coincidence
The story about a Benji v Douhie dust up in the media just the day before

Didn’t Ivan say “get on the bus or get out!”

They've both got 2 years in them. JP still playing Origin even.

May
Korisau
Papali'i
Frizell
S Fainu
Pole

Not a bad pack for the next 2 years.

Papalii playing that punch role off the bench could do 2yrs easily.

Frizell I have no issue with but his effectiveness is dropping, would prefer Kerr if we could grab him. Kerr when on is a thug and provides impact.

The way Benji uses the bench impact forwards are key for him.

With Tallyn gone, I’d be having a look at Wishart from the Storm until Haywood is ready. Great 14 and can fill in just about anywhere. Good cover if Latu’s hammy issues persist and could give Api a spell too.

Mason is an ok backup 5/8 or fullback, but he needs time to develop and I don’t think he’s the answer as a hooker defensively.

Wishart is a gun in his own right. Not a player you’d sign with a vision of being a stop gap.

Wishart is hot property

We'd be up against every other club, chasing his signature.
