Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I thought he was solid but I have not seen anything to suggest 'very very' good
He's only played a handful of games but he looks like he belongs. It's a good platform.

I agree "very, very" might be a stretch, but in the mould of a Seyfarth who slowly improves and tries his ring out, I think Sukkar has more talent and a higher starting platform than Seyfarth has.

KPP. Could be our only top line signing for 26 , I feel we are banking on a May Jnr and Makseeni the young guy to fill the centre spot , we don’t seem to be in tank with anyone who is top shelf , I think we will bring in a few reserve graders , just a feeling

To me its not even about top line signings, but we just need signings plural. In that, I mean guys who sit in that 18-24 type level in terms of squad depth, as some of the guys we have brought in this year to me are not remotely up to it. Or, guys who are starting should be fringe reserve level etc. Guys like Josh Kerr, Hassett, Kamikamica etc are not world beaters but would be great guys to call upon when we get a few injuries or to put battle it out with guys like Royce Hunt, Twal, Seyfarth, Sukkar for spots.

He's just average size and has no tackle/ line breaking ability. That's never been his game. Hes a worker, tackles and makes some soft hitups. No room for him and twal, too similar.

Agreed. You can only have 1 of those in a forward pack really. The best teams have threats on either side in the forwards. Combos like Eli Katoa/Blore, Kikau/Preston, Crichton/Wong, L.Marting/Garner, plus they are complimented by good 13s like Yeo, Radley etc.

We are not offering a threat at 13 with Twal, and not offering a threat on the right with Sukkar/Seyfarth.

Maybe, but maybe also just playing to our strengths.

Not sure I want to see Sukkar take 20 hitups a game at the expense of more effective ball runners.
Back rowers need to be able to break tackles and the line. There is no room for plodders in the back row. If he's no 30 in your squad, and plays 1-2 games a season then ok. He's solid backup. If he's regularly getting minutes then he has to do his job

I don't disagree. He doesn't make my top 40 or 50 even, but credit where it's due. He held tight defensively which is job number 1.

Attack wise, we seemed to be fine without his input, but without a doubt I'd much rather have a guy that threatens the line AND can defend.

Honestly, my assessment is he was just holding on and gave absolutely everything he could within his limited talent.

Surely gonna go for Hassett. Old enough to become an average NRL forward and we need a few of those types for a decent price. Will have been trained well over at Penrith.
