Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

It looks like we now have decent depth all round except for the back row and KPP will help out on that front.
Sukkar was acceptable in defence but if you're playing NRL you really can't be serving up 4 runs for 27 metres in 80 minutes.
If an edge is offering nothing it just gives the opposition too much of a leg up. He really was the invisible man out there.
Other than that our squad really is starting to look good with the pressure that our KOE boys are providing.
Tony Sukkar had a very decent game against the roosters.

He is a hulk of a human, very mobile and young.

He will be very very good.

Bula is a quality player and Richardson has said in the ABC interview the club will activate his clause for 2027. He is the type of player you want injecting himself when he senses an opportunity, not doing hit ups which can be done by other players. He will be even more effective with Latu Fainu a genuine threat every time he has the ball in hand. I am looking forward to the combination they build
Hopefully he signs an extension when the time comes to negotiate with him

That may be true but he has to be there to inject himself. Bula is rarely in around the back of the ruck looking to take advantage of May's offload or a Pole half break. This is a key weakness.

You need to go listen to Adel Hage with Bechara on the game today Adel mentioned Sukkar and made a great point, good podcast I watch it every week

Sukkar was mentioned by one of the commentators yesterday as playing very well. I cannot remember which Roosters' forward it was but Sukkar and Seyfarth made the tackle and it was Sukkar who hit him hard under the rib cage. There was tremendous drive in the tackle and the Rooster felt it. That is typical of him

ADs effort in recent years has been very inconsistent..sometimes hehas a crack..sometimes he doesnt
Noticable than since hes realised hes gonna be unemployed .hes really put in with probably a prod from his new manager

I listened to Richo on the ABC yesterday.
In regard to Bula he only said that there's a clause in the Tigers favour and IF they choose to activate it is up to the club.
He was very positive, but it's still an if.

How many starting first grade games has he played ?

I think that was his second start …

I don’t want to knock him too much .., he certainly had an ok game in defence with 37 tackles and 3 missed …

But you gotta make more of an effort than that in attack whether it’s your 1st or 200th

Unless of course he is playing to the coach’s instructions… but that would be odd

Doesn’t activating it mean they’d be paying him 900k? And it’s till the end of 28 isn’t it?

A young kid playing his second I think he went well lots of upside to him

Hopefully he can be in the 17 for the rest of the year

I remember a kid at the dogs years ago a young number 7 playing for the dogs in his second or third game from the bench dropped the ball 3 times in about 25 minutes two of them easy takes and missed 4 tackles but the way he moved you could see something about him

He went on to play for the Cowboys for many years became a very good player sometimes you just need some time to adjust

What were hos defence stats? In fairness to him I saw him making a lot of tackles, but I could be wrong.

He seems honest as the day is long.

Payne Haas is on 1 million. Just think about that for a second.
Perth Bears have openly stated they will open their cheque book tk sign an elite forward leader, Haas was their number 1 pick, but he looks certain to remain a Bronco, so I’d assume Tino would be their next target.
If we think a Qld based player of Tino’s calibre would even have a 2nd thought about joining us for the same money he would be offered by most of the other NRL clubs, we are dreaming.
Yes we really need a player like him and a similar scenario as when we were looking to sign Jerome Luai, our only chance is to outbid everyone else.
