So let’s replace him with a guy that has a personal vandetta with the coach, and basically will do all he can to screw him , and indirectly the team over …
I mean, I can understand AD making the call, as he has basically been told by the club he is unwanted … Bula is a different story and has been well treated and well paid by the club …now his next deal has to get negotiated in a pretty toxic environment

Very similar traits to Jahream Bula @Odessa . This kid has improved every season up through the grades and is capable of the mercurial, seen it numerous times. In one game last weekend, he showed great anticipation to snatch an intercept and run the length of the field; get wrapped up on the last tackle but manage a bicycle kick which pinned the Raiders in goal; score the match levelling try beating 3 tacklers and kick the winning conversion after the siren from 10m in from touch.

he has this weird knack of doing something completely outrageous and it pays off. it’s actually insane some of the stuff he pulls.
being super nitpicky the only thing he doesn’t have is a strong yardage carry, but he makes up for it with everything else he offers.
I’m totally with you on the #devfortino train. we have to find him a contract.

Use your influence on your podcast JR. People in the club/pathways would watch. Mac can claim that's why Logan Brookes (Deininger) is so highly rated internally lol

I might be on my Pat Malone here but I think Bula in our team makes us look so much better. He is a silky smooth runner and solid at the back and he will definitely get better. Worth every cent of $900k

that might be a stretch mate. that said, it's nice to help inform the people.
there's some good prospects in that Flegg side, but for me Tavana, Haywood, Leatigaga (pending another growth spurt), Lanyon, Deninger, the Taotua's and Plati all have a lot of upside. Laupepa's gotta get more minutes as well. his ballplaying ability is amazing for a backrower.

He’s a funny one.
When he’s playing for us you can’t help but notice the stuff he isn’t doing well such as backing up through the middle, showing urgency, and making errors.
However when he isn’t there it’s a lot more clear how much he actually does do. The side is many times better when he’s playing. He is close to our best player now but in a few years….he’ll push for best in the comp.

Yeah I'm with you on all them, and as you know, I'd love to see Riley Oitmann retained next season on a Flegg deal - I do think he's more Papenhuyzen than Logen Dillon lol
btw with your Macarthur contacts, do you know why none of our pathways players played A grade on Sunday? Thinking maybe there was a Cubs camp or something on.

Guys like this we need and Jared Haywood.. own the clutch moments. Unlike GalvinGate who bought his dropping the match winning try from junior grand finals into first grade and could well prove the 2 points to cost a semi spot

The way I see it, Bula has been learning the fullback position for 3 seasons now. How long does it take?
A good fullback, and we needed one big time. Our best available at the time. But has he peaked?
Not much progression this year. Not worth $900k, struggling to justify $800k.
Options: 1. Turuva showed more spark and enthusiasm in the Roosters game to handle that position without going backwards in defence or attack opportunities.
2. We have possibly 3 wingers in waiting. Heamasi Makasini , Taylan May and Izaac Tu'itupou. that could replace Turuva's wing. [or vie for the centre option]
3. Bula's current contract was negotiated with expectations of greater improvement than that has been shown IMO.
4. Bula a) to fight out wing or centre positions or b) take a pay cut OR c) go to whoever Isuk Measles comes up with? [thanks BF,I love it]

I believe there was a bunch of Development Squad games that were held against Canberra on the weekend, including a match that featured the remnants of the Flegg squad that weren't named in the first team. I believe the game's on BarTV Sports if you were wanting to have a squiz.
