Jahream Bula #269

Honestly I don't understand this bula hate narrative like far out people saying he isn't worth 800k crazy with the cap space increasing he is well worth 800k and 900k he has improved massively from last year and has been consistently our top 3 best players every week since he came back in round 2 been our most important and best attacking player this year and he is still only young so he is just going to improve like bula has star potienal, and if he leaves who would we replace him with mason? Luke? Both players not ready for first grade and I don't think either will be good enough ever to play at fullback In first grade week in or week out or just say we bring a player in like sua faalago who isn't even better then bula he is shorter not as reliable in in air sure you could say he is quicker and has more a x factor but are we going to act like bula isn't quick aswell and doesn't have any x factor about him and you guys always complain about bula defence let me tell you faalago isn't much better.

Bula defends like prime time Gary Jack in comparison to Faalogo, but the attack Faalogo provides is far better.
I reckon Faialogo would sign for us to be our regular starting fullback for a lot less than 800 or 900k, we would probably get him for half of those figures if we wanted him,
You could put Tuapiki currently at the Warriors in the same category,

This is all to force the tigers to re-negotiate because anything Moses is doing for Bula right now is, if he didn’t organise it , like new sponsorships / endorsements, is for free .
Riccio can go eat a dick , pigeon head looking, low integrity POS . I hate that guy …

It's easy to say Faalogo provides better attack because he's in a much better team. I think you have to consider that Bula is learning one of the hardest positions in league while being in the worst attacking team of the last 3 years. Personally think he's been in our top 3 players all year.

Yep. Players that really stand out here are normally pretty legit because they have to overcome others faults. Bula is in that category.

Not biased at all, he’s just an average player and too many of our fans think he’s a superstar.
You only pay superstars 900k and those types of players should be coming up with special plays to help their team win games on a regular basis.
What special plays does Bula possess except a bit of pace, being safe under the high ball and a bit of an aerial threat,
For 700k I’d keep him, he’s not worth a cent more than that.
Sorry but that’s a lie, you criticise Bula more than any other player in our team and Bula has not been our worst player all season. Bula isn’t perfect he has flaws but yet he gets the most hate from you compared to the rest of the squad. I’ve never seen you criticise anyone else like you have Bula, you do have a bias towards him. You can deny it if you want but we’ve had a front rower do one run for 10-15 metres and didn’t play the game again in first grade, we had a former player drop the ball costing us a match winning try, we’ve got a 1.2 million dollar player not performing as well as he should be (he’s done some good though not saying he’s been a dud) yet for some reason Bula gets more criticism from you than any of those guys who have done more bad towards us than Bula has, and you say you aren’t bias. If that was true you would be criticising the ones I mentioned like you are Bula, but yet you aren’t or if you have nowhere near the extent you have Bula.

How about you take a poll?

Your 2-point ranking scale for Bula of "average" or "superstar" is beyond laughable - & your understanding of the fullback market is rudimentary at best!

Jahream has been a blessing to this squad since his debut!

And while he is still a rough diamond in some aspects - he is evidently better-rounded and more valuable than some of the more fancied fullbacks in the competition to anyone with a clue!

You're a sad case for attacking a humble young bloke who has repaid all the faith the club has put in him since signing him on a train & trial - and playing with/coming back from major shoulder surgery!

He is happy and content at the club & knows he is appreciated (regardless of his new manager who is not directly Isaac Moses - it is one of his Cove Agency employees)!

The club (and all quality football analysts) highly rate him & know his ceiling is enormous - so he won't be going anywhere soon!

You're butthurt that Galvin supposedly left for a "better system" and has shat the bed & destroyed team cohesion in a previously winning team- we get it!!

You shat on Turuva's defence recently - but now back to Bula because of a bullshit news opinion piece!

Attend a game and meet Jahream personally before shitting on him online again!

This is nothing more than Moses agitating action on the contract extension.

I really like Bula as a player and as a human off the field. In saying that, if we were to lose him, we have seen that Turuva can do just as good a job in the #1 position and could pick up a quality winger to fill the gap...

What are Bulas ties to the club? I see he does a bit of work with in Redfern with indigenous kids is that right? Is he involved in any systems in the inner west/West with the Wests tigers?

Spot on champion @mtd#2 - if the contract stays as it is, Moses as the new player manager makes nothing out of the deal until Bula has to negotiate a brand new contract down the track.

So we just pay whatever he and his manager ask for and hope he improves enough becomes a genuine superstar one day ?

As a club we have time especially given the option in our favor. Is he worth $900k right now nope but we aren’t paying that now and we are talking in 18mths time.

Each year Bula has improved whilst everything around him really hasn’t until maybe part of this season before Galvin exploded things.

We have roster spots and a bucket load of cap space that may double pending Luai staying.

I have zero doubts Bula gets paid for 27 onwards. Bula isn’t as bad as you make him out to be and some players who you mentioned have speed but have massive weaknesses that Bula offsets let alone like Brimson you would need a NRL quality backup option due to amount of time he misses.

I don’t think anyone views him top flight right now but when he is due to hit his peak around 25+ he could be if he grows and we stabilize the quality in key positions around him.

Bula is a developing player who’s played 52 games. He’s already a gun but his upside is huge. Some fans want his defence and positional play as good as Gutherson who’s in his 30s. It will come.
Gutho is a PR construct!

So you are acknowledging Bula is currently no superstar and currently not worth 900k but you think we should pay it in hope he gets there by 2027 ?
The writing is on the wall, we will give in and pay him 900k, I wouldn’t be surprised if Isaac demands we renegotiate and pay him 900k from 2026 onwards and we agree to it.
That would mean we virtually have no money left in our salary cap other than to retain what we have and maybe add a couple of lower tier top 30 players.
If you think our current roster plus the addition of KPP and a couple of depth players is good enough to see us be be a definition 8 and possible top 4 team than so be it, I cannot see how that will be good enough, time will tell.
