Saukuru has scored 8 tries in 7 games since moving to the backrow, including another bullocking effort last week. Big call, but outside Fainu, he runs the best lines of any backrower in the club. Hopefully he's in line for KOE this season and will feature in the trials in 2026. But he could also go the way of Faagutu, who dominated in Flegg after returning from injury mid-last season, only to depart at season's end. This club moves in mysterious ways.

it's time to pull the trigger on a few players and move them around the grades. Haywood, Tavana and Saukuru need to be playing Cup, with the Taotua twins not far behind either.

if blokes like Faataape, Porter and Jack aren't a part of the future, move them down the grades.

After your wrap on Tino’s magic at FB for ten mins to win the game, would you have played him at fb this week?

Do you believe the club is wanting the Flegg team to play finals and so will keep them in this competition?

Not only that he was a real handful for our opposition during his cameo appearance for our top grade in the trial game this season.
He can and will be an attacking weapon at NRL level, it’s just his effort plays and defence that need a lot of work and focus.
As you say the only way to really improve these areas is to promote him to be playing against men at NSW Cup level on a regular basis.

It's a tough one Bf, we have a lot of depth now in the outside backs in both grades. It is evident that Brookes is highly rated at the club and I think someone mentioned he is on a multi-year lower grades deal.

Tavana using a McAvaney word is 'special' but has more 3/4-line versatility than Brookes who is a fullback/five-eighth.

Personally I would rotate them every few weeks so both get reps but there is also Cameron Kanaan in the mix who is out injured atm.

It does depend on their ages ,
You can’t drop older players into Flegg.

Looks like Brooke’s is the fullback but I don’t think his the best option, last Lidcombe home game I spoke to Cameron and his out for a fair bit he said he tore his pec and had surgery he was in a brace but it looks like they are developing cameron/tino as wingers since that’s where they played in cup and where the club needs the troops, would be good to see them all in action at once

Give up? He's the best second row prospect currently at the club. Better than Godinet at present.
In fact we haven't had a back row prospect like him for a while. We should definitely be re-signing him in the coming months, a second rower who runs good lines and scores barnstorming tries. He just needs to work on his fitness and defence line all youngsters but we don't want to risk losing him to the Storm or Raiders.

Not yet.
Both sides are winning and that's just as important for the players and the club. Yes they should play a couple of games up a grade before the end of the season, but having continuity to keep working on their game with the same players around them also breeds more confidence.

Kanaan is significantly behind the likes of Brookes and Tavana, laulilii, Makasini etc. Might be a solid flegg/cup player eventually though

He along with Makasini are exactly the big, fast and powerful type of athletes you have been correctly stating we have been lacking coming through our system for so long.
As you have stated, these are the type of players the successful clubs love to get their hands on and mould into top class players, hopefully we can get it done with these two.
