Well Tigers did it because Tigers are desperate.

Bulldogs are now doing it because they can't bear the possibility that they just bought a $1M lemon. It's a coping mechanism. The knives will come end of season if this campaign falls apart. At the moment they are still Top 4.

No negating that theory at all, just haven’t seen the same sort hysteria surrounding better young players in previous times.

I think Gus stirred the pot when he started talking about Galvin as the “best new prospect for years” and “how he can win comps for you”. A sort of subtle hysteria manifested by Gus famous comment
“ we’re not interested “ followed up by we’ve signed him “ coz circumstances changed”.
As good a bit of media manipulation as you’re ever going to see. Onya Gus, you Tonk ( sorry successful Tonk).

That call was disgraceful IMO as the player it meant to get to his feet prior to placing the ball on the ground.. I have seen this call all year go the other way but NRL needed to Dogs to win,.
