Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Take another look at the Warriors game and you will see what I mean …they (Tigers) didn’t have anywhere near the physicality on both sides of the ball…
What forwards in particular ?
Terrell May has been very good, if not held his own all season. Fonua Pole has been inconsistent, but generally carries the ball very strongly at least in one stint which is generally his 2nd for some reason.
Sione Fainu has been very strong most of the season, particularly the past month or so.
Then you have Twal and Seyfarth who are not going to hurt anyone, but they bring a solid consistent work rate.
We are lacking a genuine power running forward which is what Royce Hunt was supposed to provide.
We lack a 1st receiver ball playing style of 13 which was supposed to be Jack Bird. Not sure if that not eventuating is a player problem or a coaching problem ?
It looks like we are now hoping Adam Doueihi might be this type of player.
With Samuela now out injured, who will be our attacking threat within our edge back row ?
We are hoping young Sukkar steps up sometime soon and we know Seyfarth will do his best, but he just doesn’t have enough speed off the mark to be a constant threat.
All in all we definitely need plenty of improvement within our forward pack, one dominant or power running middle to replace and do what we wanted Royce Hunt to do, another edge back rower in addition to KPP who has versatility to also cover the backs and possibly another 13 depending on how Doueihi goes and depending on what happens with Bird for 2026.

it’s the coaching with this one, knights attack is really poor they aren’t encouraged to move the ball at all, offload etc. they have KPP & Dylan Lucas they are really under-utilised. AOB has KPP as a tackle eater & just running decoys. i think he’ll suit our way of playing a lot more and that’s why benji has snagged him.
I get the sentiment, but he has similar results in the UK over 60 games.

Where did they find May ? Because they need another one
I reckon our recruitment has shown we are happy to be patient for the right player. I doubt much talk happens between now and the grand final. November 1st will be the next period where teams are going to look at adjusting rosters in the off season. Every year someone comes out of nowhere onto the market. Let's wait and see.

REPORT: Dane Gagai reportedly feels “disrespected” by the Knights’ offer to stay beyond 2025, including a $100K pay cut.

He’s now weighing up his future, with rival clubs circling and a potential move to Sydney or even Super League on the table.

We can’t have Gagai and To’a as both are right centres, both seemingly looking for a contract of around 400-450k you would think if Taylan May keeps playing well he will also be looking at a minimum of 400k for 2026 and it’s speculated we are paying Makasini 350k for 2026, so the backline wage bill starts to add up very quickly.
If it was a choice between the ageing Dane Gagai or Starford To’a as our right centre on 400-450k for 2026, I would lean towards Gagai as he still looks extremely fit and looks like he might have one more good season left in him.
