Nah, we were losing the ruck for sure, from the the first few sets and our line speed was inferior.

Penrith are just a juggernaut. They never look tired, instead they just roll on with ease.

I’d like to see the set distance average because I reckon we never made it past 50 meters apart from that T’oa break

3 lack of speed
4 average forward pack
5 zero x factor

Sadly nothing will change next year with basically on KPP joining our ranks. It will be the same old same old. At least the Titians have speed and flair…we are plodders

This is something we need to focus on in the offseason. It's so important to the attack, and it's not just the halves that should be competent, you want a kicking threat across the park. Look at the top team's attack, everything revolves around a kicking game.

Been carrying on about this issue for close to a year now

I think just about everybody on the forum has ,

Penrith being better than us and "interpreting" rules are two different things

Tigers were ahead early in the contest, controlling field position until the Izaac penality/handover... That is no fault of the tigers..

Penrith then played the ball 12+ times after this without using their foot and the ball wasnt handed over to the tigers.. they also gained more momentum because they were given set restarts for dubious calls that you could call every second tackle...

The tigers didnt wait till the 20th minute and just decide to play lazy.

The ref started "interpreting"..

I am completely happy to be proven wrong... But after watching almost every NRL game this season and how the rules are applied, I am convinced there is a fundamental issue at the core of the NRL... Whether it's a conspiracy, or by design, I do not know... What i do know, is that it isn't right...

EDIT -- I am not deflecting the issues the tigers have, we have plenty to work on..

I paid close attention to Penrith play the balls, and their feet always looked like they touched the ball. I was looking for ref hypocrisy but didn't see it.

Most disappointing thing about this season is the lack of improvement throughout the season if anything we have regressed massively, only thing that has been improved from the last season is our effort and our scramble defence, I don't get how we have so many great attacking players in our team and one of the greatest attacking players ever as a our coach but our attack is ordinary at best, our middle defence is horrible teams are well passed the half way line easily every set against us I don't get how our first contact is so shit. These are all problems that were evident at the start of the year and we've probably gotten worse at these areas if anything then you look at a team like Parramatta yes they aren't the best but you can see a clear improvement from the start of season and they have a style of play they are clearly going in the right direction and they have just started their rebuild, the only improvements we have made from the rebuild is the quality of our players and our effort

I'll have to go back and look again, cause I was watching closely at every play the ball after it happened and I saw it differently..

Agreed. They are also one out, with no support,, and they run as if they e expect to get tackled, rather than as if they hope to break the tackle.. no enthbiusasm . Just so bland and predictable…its not hard to tun in pairs ffs ..local a grade teams do it, but we cannot for some reason… Toa needs a break

No one runs with any intensity. Turuva tried all night. The rest were gutless.

The coaching is not visible at all.
But Jack Gibson himself wouldn’t be able to magically make most of these players first graders.

Only the depth players as we only have a dozen first graders, but most of those could be much better. Look at the physical properties of the players and tell me they can't improve. League is a game of speed above all.

As far as I'm concerned, if a club doesn't have a sprinting coach, it's not a serious club. Slater overcame most of his shortcomings through sheer blinding speed, including defence. Why do we have to relearn these things?

what do you think is the reason? They are coached by an experienced coach. Over 10 years of apprenticeship. We are coached by a novice with no clues on structures.

The most overrated bum in NRL history!

He is the weakest link and Benji needs to rip the bandaid off!

Doueihi is the problem - he is a total liability at lock!
