Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I love the two May boys but Tyrone's not a smart buy.
I watch every Super League game and for all the talk of his versatility he's basically a 7 or 6. We just signed 2 of those.
Also, the other 2 boys are in a different stratosphere to him, talent wise. He's very very Moses Mbye average.
If we sign Tyrone on anything other then a train and trial or magpies contact it will be a very poor move

Terrel May just signed a three year extension with the Roosters this time last year…he wasn’t available either for us to sign…

How many ways I got to draw this picture ?
Tom I thought you were smarter than this.
Read the play, have a look around the grounds, there are no top class 13’s or enforcer style middle forwards becoming available anytime soon.
When something is not available you can’t buy it,
The only option to at least try and solve these very noticeable holes in our team line up is to improvise and try and manufacture the type of players we need.

Why are you upset about Madden and Andrews?

They are not signed to play NRL. They are backup. One an experienced and capable replacement. The other an exciting junior prospect. So you trashed those signings. What would you have done? It's easy to criticise, not as easy to articulate your solution.

On Seyfarth and Twal, they need to be upgraded. Just tell me though, we bought KPP to replace Seyfarth, so do you have one less complaint or you still want to ralk about it as if the issue hasn't been addressed.

In Twal...who was on the market to upgrade him? Are you willing to wait until we lock in our top 30 before you pass judgement? Do you accept that we might want origin level players, but unless they appear on the market, we are forced to look elsewhere?

It's just so easy to say we need this type or that type of player. Whenever I ask what their names are, their availability and their price, things go totally silent.

Here's the truth. You wouldn't have had the ability to do anything different with what's available.

On winning. 6 games remaining. It could be more than 1 win, but in any case you asked for the improvement. I showed it to you objectively and you minimise it like it's worse than last year. How do you discuss this stuff with someone that's unwilling to be objective in the face of simple wins and losses.
Hey Weststigers out of curiosity. If Madden was at the club this week who do u think our 7 would be this week.
My concern is with Benjis chopping and changing like moving Latu to 13 then back to 7 this week I' thinks he will play a lot of fg next year and I don't think he's a quality fg player. I hope I'm wrong .

Benji wanted to “get into the grind “ with the Panthers last night… how did that work for them 🤔… our boys had 20 minutes only in them playing this way .. why play a game style that suits the opponent ?

Also … any chance they can contest some attacking kicks every once in a while? Most other teams successfully disrupt attacking kicks and get repeat sets inside the opponent 20 .. we don’t even try… the only one all season that attempts this is Bula
I think that’s a touch harsh looking back on it. We were in the grind. Got stung by an 18 tackle set, a roll ball and a forward pass. We’re not good enough to overcome those yet, that’s the next mountain to climb.

We don’t need to sign Isaiah Yeo…

I’m looking for someone better than Twal - that’s not a Mt Everest level bar…

Did you think this time last year May would be joining us ? Contracts mean nothing

I know but that’s easier said than done unless we look outside the square.
The options that look ok such as Adam Elliott come with high risk due to being constantly injured,
We need another player that is constantly injured like a hole in the head.

I think he'll stick with Latu.

Did you think this time last year May would be joining us, being under contract at the Roosters until 2028?

Your strategy of taking a punt by moving internal unproven players at the position is exactly what we don’t need

There seems to be talk that Makasini will get game time... So how's that fixing the issue if we are bringing fresh 18 year olds in way too young?
Different cat more physically developed than Inglis was and he started at 18. Outside backs always start young or good enough.

Haven’t seen the $$$ …hope it was reasonable …

Happy with the signing ,,he has a long way to go though 👍
Very good signing.
There is no guarantees with young players as we well know, but a standout man of the match performance in an u/19’s SOO is generally a very good sign and follows the lead of others such as Ethan Strange a couple of years earlier.

do you have any proof of that or is it just an opinion.
Sure buddy. Right here in page 19 from Holman Barnes latest annual report. Just under 1.8 million in grants to Wests Tigers.

By comparison, the Bulldogs chip in about 7 million.

The last commercial report, which is sponsorship and other club generated revenue was 13.4 million. Last in the comp.

We are critically underfunded - last in the comp in fact - and it stands to reason that having the least revenue and the lowest, if not one of the lowest, club grants, we would spend the least on support staff.

Why do you think they invest so little?
