Fantastic performance from the Tigers. Raiders must have had 70% possession and field position in 1st half and the boys worked so hard and then were the better side 2nd half

Denninger, Max Tatou, Liles and Matai, Maatale, Saukuru, Lenyon all great and a special call out to Godinet - we have an absolute star of the future on our hands - everything he did was of such quality especially his defence. Taupau Moors and Broaderlow both made big impacts off the bench

Against a top 2 Raiders with no ball in the first half in wet conditions was perhaps the most impressive junior performance I've seen from a Tigers team.

It's a shame the season is 3 or 4 games too short. The team has performed really well since Shane Sultana took over as coach. He did a good job with Balmain's Ball team too.
I wonder if he'd be ready for a step up to our KOE side or whether he'd serve WT better coaching Flegg.
Agree Shane can coach that’s for sure, seems to have a good read of the game these days.
Let’s hope he is in our future plans.
These lads are definitely in good hands.

Saukuru was excellent, easily out best. His defence was very strong too which is encouraging. As a team from the 20th minute onwards they played solidly, still error prone, few individual standouts just a solid team effort.
Haywood was very quiet, naicori had a shocker, no idea why he's in the squad, Nicholas has a lot more to work with. Liles was pretty good, Matai not seen much. Deininger was always floating around looking sharp, available in support. Tavana was a mixed bag.

The forwards were all decent. Moving broederlow to start at prop ending up working in our favour. Godinet and CTM only got a handful of touches each but were solid. Lanyon playing 13 and 9 was strong, plati and leatigaga the weak links in the pack.

If they could learn how to play the ball properly this team would be very hard to beat!

Would be very nice if we could get the Tuiali brothers from Canberra to add to our brotherdom at Concord. They were easily Canberras best and future first graders for sure.

Let's not make the same mistakes like in the past where we had both Ben Gardiner and Andrew Webster here and let them go.

Our record with keeping good/decent coaches is terrible,i certainly hope that the powers that be are taking a good long look at the coaching at this level as he seems to be developing players extremely well and hopefully he gets more and better opportunities with our club.No more "jobs for the boys"

Good job to get the win in this one. We didn't handle the conditions well and made plenty of basic errors gifting Raiders opportunity after opportunity. They fluffed some chances of their own but the boys kept turning up in defence too.

Impressed with Godinet, who showed he was a handful to put down each carry and hit hard in defence. Great signs for him moving ahead. Taupau-Moors only had limited minutes and we were defending most of that time, but he also looked good. Threat with the offload, big body and had a big hit in defence.

Saukuru and Deininger were both dangerous as always with ball in hand. Liles had some classy passes at the end of the game to Tavana which helped seal the game. I think Broederlow in the middle is a masterstroke as he still provides that punch but doesn't get caught out laterally in defense like he does in the 2nd row.

Great result, just a shame that we started the season slowly.

Was a game of 2 halves in terms of possession. We didn't respect the ball in the wet conditions in the 1st half and then we did in the 2nd half and looked the better side.

Defence won us the game especially the effort to go into halftime at 10-10 with about a 75/25 weight of possession against us.

My man of the match was split between Josese Lanyon & Max Taotua. Thought Lanyon was great in the link work, set up a try to Delaney with a nicely timed offload in the 1st half and I'm pretty sure played 80 mins or close to (relieved Haywood at dummyhalf for 10-15 mins too). Max Taotua was an absolute beast once again at right centre with his carries and contact in defence channeling his inner Moses Suli. That right edge of Godinet, Taotua & Tavana is pretty exciting.

Logan Deininger was brilliant once again especially in attack with his livewire carries & nous to backup, Solo Saukuru always broke 1 or 2 tackles in his carries and helped create some try scoring opportunities - I just get a bit nervous with his ball carrying especially in the wet & Pheonix Godinet was huge in his first starting game in JF - very good post contact & put a huge hit on Canberra's big bopper prop.

Matai & Liles were both very good in the halves, with Liles setting up 2 tries with beautiful harbour bridge passes to Tavana in the 2nd half (the 2nd try Tavana showed quick hands to slip it back inside to Taotua to score). Tavana was also strong apart from 2 handling errors early in the game and once again offers that touch of class with his aerial ability & finishing.

Off the pine, Plati, Leatigaga & Taupau-Moors also brought good impact on both sides of the ball. Impressed by CTP in his JF debut.

Can't believe I forgot to mention Lanyon in my post! Love what he brings to this side.

I’ve been saying it for a while, he’s got definite NRL potential in an area we lack which is a big bodied ball playing 13 who is also a running threat and can also play 9.
I’ve got a feeling we won’t be the only club who wants his services for 2026, so let’s hope we keep him.
Similar with Max Taotua who as BWG pointed out is a big, strong, fast and aggressive right centre who could have a heap of improvement left in him with the right coaching.
Both similarly look like they just need slight improvements on their aerobic capacity, speed and agility and if they can do that, there’s an extremely valuable player in both of them.

Only 1 dev spot left for 2026 (and hopefully it has Tavana written all over it). The other guys we will need to sell a vision and have them happy to stay on train and trial deals. Hopefully the taste of some nrl pre season can be included to sweeten the deal and also for Benji and co to really see what they have in our ranks.

Thought No. 16, Mitch Taotua stood out as well.

Just some more musings after watching the Flegg & Cup games today about the potential of our young guys.

Fullback - Logan Deininger is class, ideally to keep developing as fullback in Flegg next season.

Winger - Tino Tavana won't be eligible for Flegg next year but regardless I'd love to see him move up into the Cup system fulltime next year.

Centre - Max Taotua will still be eligible for Flegg next year but I reckon should be given the opportunity to push for a NSW Cup spot from Round 1 pending NRL top 30 drop backs, is physically ready.

Centre - Krystian Mapalangi has that touch of class/quality about him, be good to see him getting consistent reps in the centres in Cup next year and push for NRL.

5/8 - Heath Mason, leave him at 5/8 to develop for a while.

Other halves - Iverson Matai & Max Liles will not be eligible for Flegg next year. Just don't think their games will cut it yet for NSW Cup especially defensively. If we retain one, it'll be like what we did with Eiden Ackland who plays mainly Ron Massey. Javon Andrews will jump both.

Lock - Josese Lanyon, hopefully straight into NSW Cup system next year and rotates with Charlie Murray & Tristan Hope as a lock/hooker utility.

2nd Row - Solomone Saukuru, should be given first crack at NSW Cup left edge next season and hopefully owns it and can taste the NRL.

2nd Row - Pheonix Godinet, like Deininger just work on his game in Flegg and push up into Cup later in the season if his form warrants & spot becomes available.

Props - Peter Taa'teo & Kit Laulilii have a lot to offer and plenty of development. Hopefully become one of the best prop pairings in Cup next year. Let them earn NRL selection.

Prop - Taupau-Moors, see Godinet above.

Hooker - Haywood, just quality but needs to work on his body as any 19yo hooker would to handle the middle defensively. Ideal Flegg captain next year and then managed game time in Cup through the season to maybe build for an NRL debut off the bench later in the season.

Others - Mitch Taotua & Lachie Broederlow have quality about them but prone to errors & poor defensive reads. Not sold yet. Broederlow is on a Dev contract and I do like the transition of him to the middle - doubt he'd get a dev deal at any other club though so we may have prematurely evaluated lol

Late developer - Really like what Leni Plati has brought this past 3 months, leg speed, impact, contact. He's a nuggety type but can see him as a late bloomer so hopefully the club sees something there.
