Only opportunity for Bunty Afoa is in Australia it seems as he isn't eligible for ESL under the minimum NRL games played in the past 12 months qualification.

Daine played his best footy at 6. Made a lot of line breaks there.

With a good 7 next to him he could go ok. Titans or Perth on a low value 2 year deal would be good business.

Keep him away from fullback/wing and he'll be fine.

They will be real dark years in 31/32 for whichever club pays that . He can’t stay on the field now at 26 yo. It will be Matt Ballin level bench riding in those years for whichever team.
I’d much rather get a Hamlin uele or a Talakai and move him into the middle for a fraction of the cost , without having this albatross around your neck , that might bare fruit in 26,27,28 , but will block pathways for the juniors and severely hamstring your capabilities in the salary cap , even if it goes to the expected 15 mil by 2030, I’ve seen projected . 1.5kil then for a prop who’s the best in the world and killing it … muah chefs kiss . We litterally have just come out of this with Reynolds and Packer , and McQueen , and some of you guys are desperate to get right back into that pit of despair . The thing is that clubs need to stop doing these long term contracts, its a contact sport and there is a massive risk in it. This is an area where the salary cap screws the market...cant offer more $$ just offer more years. Its always the bottom 8 clubs that have to offer these long term contracts to attract talent, often to their detriment.
 
Broncos teammates are calling on Selwyn Cobbo to return to the club in 2027, despite agreeing on a move to the Dolphins for next season. The Brisbane star signed a one-year deal to join Kristian Woolf's Dolphins in 2026, meaning he will actually be a free agent on November 1 and able to speak with rival clubs - despite the fact he won't have featured in a single game for the Redcliffe-based side.
Under the NRL's much-maligned contract system, Cobbo will actually be a free agent for 2027 before he even makes the move to Redcliffe for 2026. The farcical situation has opened the door for Cobbo to rejoin his boyhood club in 2027 after admitting that he didn't want to leave the Broncos in the first place but was forced out due to salary cap constraints.

Everyone (including me) going on about the fact we need a damaging middle....if you recall Pole in the back end of a game against the raiders last yr was running it off the back fence busting thru defenders.... made Spencers runs look like a temu version. If we can get that Pole than I think we may have the answer...the question is where has that Pole gone....probably a mistake to have him on a starting prop, maybe his pre-season was more about endurance than strength because we had Hunt coming?. I also think Kit may be ready to step up after another pre season and be that damaging forward.

It's not just about coaching you also have to have the players with the skills and talent to play to the tactics. There's also the chance he may have a contract and may not want to move plus the risk of being found to having induced a person to break a contract which can have penalties associated with that action.
