The one major problem we had in offence was the number of times Samuela broke the line with hands free and had no support.
Also Hunt 1 time …

we have n are improving on the negatives you state. Who remembers Benji saying we have/ are recruiting and educating a great group of kids for the future , Spoke those words 2 years ago , i just thought it was same same rhetoric. But its twooWe will never be a top 4 side until we change our attitude and resolve in D. Everything comes off that. We must as a group learn to attack with our defense. Currently we are way too passive- no line speed, not enough aggression in contact, no communication, no trust. We are static at best and, even worse when the opposition are coming at us in our 20, we start back peddling FFS!!
Defend as a hungry group and the attack will follow. Fitness is still an issue as well - we were fitter this year compared to past seasons but still not fit enough.
Support play just isn't good enough it hasn't been happening for years. The one major problem we had in offence was the number of times Samuela broke the line with hands free and had no support.
Yeah....line speed or lack of it does my head in.We will never be a top 4 side until we change our attitude and resolve in D. Everything comes off that. watched most of parra's 1st half that was almost flawlless , Bellamy would have been more than proud , n fk the roostersSupport play just isn't good enough it hasn't been happening for years.
If we backed up like parra did last night we win easily.
Even at the end of the game if someone was on Bula's hip it would of gone to golden point.
Deardan, Robsonnanai, cotter are current state of origin players. Drinkwater, purdue also highly regarded. I still rate taumalolo and McLean and they are big time rep players of the past. That's a lot of rep talent. Our current origin players: 1 fill in player.Agree with the summary except that I think this Cowboys side is a long way from being star studded.
we do ,they just need to realize it 1xst ,We just don't have a premiership-winning squad; we are at least 2 middles away. Our defence in the last 15 minutes was abysmal. We need more depth also, our NSW cup team forwards are just not there. Murry, Sukkaru Naden, Hunt and Twal are NSW Cup at best. We are just desperate for middles
It was such a surprising loss.Yeah....line speed or lack of it does my head in.
We looked gassed midway thru the 2nd even though we seemed to have most of the ball.
I really couldnt see those three last tries nq scored was on. The hill.side it was like no one was there...thought wed go on with it 12 up...very disappointing last home game...again.
Just hope we can knock off the GC in the final round would hate to go into the offseason LLL
He tries hard but no flair !!Agree when Twal runs the ball he may as well be sitting next to me as he has nothing 😉
Yeah just need to win the next 2 games by about 100 each and Roosters lose the next 2.We can still mathematicaly make the eight?
and then sumYeah just need to win the next 2 games by about 100 each and Roosters lose the next 2.
bah humbug - No more, its no excuse ,They played better than us - todayBula, Luai, Taylan & Samuela didn’t deserve to lose that game… they all had 10/10 games but were let down by our poor right edge defence. It’s strange because there’s been a big improvement the last couple of weeks and the blueprint is there but it’s just disappointing because we just always seem to lose these sorts of games.
Yeah the mental disappointment from losing that one is going to be hard to get over. I just hope we don’t put the cue in the rack like Newcastle have and think oh well onto to next year. If that happens not only will we face a demoralising hiding from Canberra, but also possibly an embarrassing loss to the new wooden spooners! It was such a surprising loss.
Even halfway through the second half I was convinced we would put 50 on them. Their attack looked good but they didn’t seem “on”…they were dropping the pill at crucial times and we looked to have them stuffed - especially when we went to their right edge.
That’s a really bad loss considering the circumstances surrounding this game and Benji has his work cutout to get them past it otherwise Raiders have a 70 point hiding awaiting them in 6 days time.

Nice @Moh , couldn't have summed it up any better.Taylan May has completely changed our backline. Absolute gun.
Hurt by the result - and probably more upset we couldn't finally get 3 in a row more than staying alive for finals, that was always unlikely.
Anyway, positive signs are there. We were the better team; and - amongst other things - depth was the key to a lot of our failures. And thats something we're already trying to improve heading into '26.
