Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

so one player can get you in the finals ? No wonder he gets paid so much …

We really need to get one of those players
Not sure how much of the knights you watched during their runs last couple of years or this year in fact, but Ponga was incredible in those runs. One man team is not far off. They have been absolutely dreadful this year with a few more attacking weapons on the park. Their attack makes us look like 05 Tigers.

Forget about Alamoti and Laurie.

That young kid they’ve got David Fale looked pretty talented out there.

7 tackle breaks against a Bulldogs defensive side is pretty solid stuff.

Very close to Turuva and available to talk to clubs in November - can cover wing/centre.
I agree (RE: Fale)

He's been doing well in cup.
Looks quite tall & athletic also.

Watched him closely last night, looked up for the challenge.

He’s the same trap that Olam, Leillua, Bird etc have been. He’ll only start declining once he leaves the Storm system. I think we should keep trying to milk Panthers. Like Smith, or we could really ambitious and make a play for Liam Henry who is also available November 1 I believe 🤔
I agree with you except to add that he's quite obviously already well into the decline phase. He's not been the same player for Melbourne over the past couple of seasons, the idea that he's suddenly going to revert to 2022 form and fitness upon leaving is wishful thinking of the highest order.

Paul Alamoti is a beast, far too good to be playing NSW Cup.
I don’t know about beast, but I agree he’s better than that. You’d reckon he is onto his management to get him a start somewhere in the shop window for the franchise sale.
And no not us, we need a NRL run on ready 10 then a 13 before anything else or we won’t capitalise on our growth this year.

This week is a sell out at GIO Stadium. All GA tickets went yesterrday. If you are travelling to Canberra, by far the easiest way to get into the ground is to park at Belconnen and get the free buses to and from the ground. They dump you off about 100m from the eastern entrance.

Probably an unpopular opinion. But I'd take Daine Laurie back on low wages, apparently doesn't have a contract for next year. He's an ideal 14/Cup backup. He'd be one hell of an ungrade on Heath Mason
No ex girlfriends, especially ugly ones. If they develop Mason properly he will be better than scatterbrain, so is it an upgrade?
And we don’t have spots to waste in our top 30, and I can’t see that primadona returning here for a Reggie deal.

If Richo and benji don’t sign a class prop and a decent lock nothing will change next year , we have put together a very good backline , but they need a pack to support them
We don't even need them to be explosive or anything, just someone reliable who can break 1 or 2 tackles a game, can grind a few post contact metres, makes his tackles and can put in for 40 - 50 minutes to help out May.

10 ,11we were shafted. Anasta split the scrum - game over , Next Jeremy Smith run shotgun over us (illegally)and when we fought fire with fire we got penalized. Im still peeved about missing out on those GF's ,but placated to an extent that the powers that be helped get us that far. Our tern will come again -1day
If Payton didn't roll his bloody ankle on the tennis ball at training the week of the preliminary final in 2010 we win the comp that year.

One year he was incredible 2023 …when he won the Dally M and they went on a 10 game winning streak …. They made the finals three other times…

In 2024 he played 16 games and appeared to be carrying an injury even when he was on the field a lot of the time …they finished 8th

I dunno, he was streets ahead of any other knights players in the Dally M last year despite only playing 16 games. Plenty of better judges than me think he has been carrying the Knights for years.

I’ve never seen one player carry an NRL team through to the finals … particularly when you only play two thirds of the games …

I’ve seen other good judges describe the likes of Origin players like Best, Gagai , Saifiti as good players … and I hope KPP is good as well

I would argue that Ponga has actually been detrimental to the ability of that side to play consistent footy or develop decent halves. In their attacking set up he has first right of refusal on every play, when he is out injured or just a little bit off his game they really struggle.

Going back to your first comment this is the point. You are comparing apples and oranges with the Knights and Tigers. Knights have had a good roster the last few years but their football is underwhelming and they are overly reliant on Ponga for attacking output. They have realistically never looked a threat when they should of been pushing up the table and now they have had a steep decline this year.

Andrew Johns was like that in his day . They'd lose by 50 without him, then win by 50 with him
