Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Yeah nah... that won't be happening!

It's off to the glue factory for Des
Des though is one of the few original coaches.

He got manly appearing at the finals level.
He got the dogs (with a rigged cap) at the finals level.

The Titans had no halfback. They had a monster pack and some talent around their backs. ...

Ricky Stuart was off to the Glue factory. He got Cronulla the worst consecutive loss record and was coaching a Parra side that either was spooners or next to spooners. Now Raiders have win the minor premiereship. If Marshall doesn't improve us next year, I would be happy with either Des or Brad Arthur.

There are only a few good ones around which is why we went after Reynolds.

Cleary, Moses, Fogarty, Burton are the best general players kickers and it’s a massive gap to the next best IMO.

Benji has to find out a way to get the best parts of AD and Latu’s games and make it work at 13 and 7. If he can do that we won’t need anyone else.
Richo can see we need a strategic kicker particularly on the last tackle. I think thats why he went after Adam Reynolds. I wonder what assurances Jock Madden has been given to come back next year? Do they think he's our 7?

Ricky was young enough to re-invent himself, Arthur hmm on the fence with him.

Desi is a dinosaur you cannot teach new tricks, throw a ball and a T-Rex isn't smart enough to retrieve it, instinct would be to chase it down and chow down on it.

Any way the club has gone all in on Benji so their patience will be tolerated a lot longer than previous coaches.

The Daily Telegraph/Code Sports released the games top 100 highest paid players, with only 4 Tigers players featuring. Rank and salary below:

76th - Jahream Bula (675k)
72nd - Terrell May (700k)
62nd - Api Koroisau (710k)
5th - Jarome Luai (1.2m)

This just shows how good a job Richo is doing. Not only are the Tigers one of the least featured teams on the list, all the players on there are on good deals. Terrell and Api on unders, Bula is spot on ranked against other fullbacks and Jaromes deal is fair given the impact he has had on turning the team around off the field and his winning pedigree at Penrith.

There are some absolute shockers on the list with a bunch of players massively overpaid.
Yea, but Dylan Brown is going to earn every cent of his contract at Newcastle...
Also David Fifita is a real workhorse for the Titans, if only he performed on the field he might earn his 1m paycheck.

Seriously I bet you there are worse. I believe we are still paying for Sullivan and that's 500k - something down the drain. Unsure how much we are loading on Klem/Bateman.

So true mate the team has improved a lot this season I don't know what they are watching.
So much disruption in the halves didn't help us at all but they adjusted well considering.

The last thing to fix is the attack during the summer and the team should be humming next season.
Fingers crossed for the finishing touches on the roster.

True but I think we need an experienced assistant to help us get the small things right

We tend to lose the grind too often and have lost many games with small margins

We need to be winning those games and executing the things the good teams get right

Whilst the our performances reflect improvement, the ladder doesn’t

We are 2-3 years off being competitive IMO

We have what it takes in terms of game breaking quality players who can pull off something out of nothing, however, we need AD to find consistency and we also need a James Graham style prop forward

A rehash of assistant staff wouldn't hurt if Richo thinks we need one.

The teams form trajectory this season looks to be on the up, you never know another good off season might surprise, wouldn't be the first time a NRL team has improved out of its skin one season to the next.

Mason, Hunt and Murray only played 40 mins between them yesterday for a combined 63 metres … Sukkar was better at 32 mins ,,..but they need more impact off the bench …
And this is a big part of why we lost. We had workhorses trying hard but lacking energy and impact. We should have players going all out and then getting a rest, rather then trying to play the whole game at 69% capacity.
It was possibly our worst ever bench. Benji is horrible at managing the Matchday squad.

there’s no one else left to pick

The thing is, we currently only have one halfback contracted for next year across our top 3 grades!!! And that's Madden.

We have a crap load of 5/8s in all grades. But no one who can organise, kick in general play.

Luai, Latu, Douiehi, Andrews, Liles, Matai are all 5/8s. Our junior rep squads this year also had no decent halfbacks in them.

If we could get Conti back that would be a start. We need to value these skills more, it's often the difference between winning and losing

Who else could he pick on the bench different?

Have you seen the tiny arms on a T-Rex? Wouldn’t even be able to catch a ball 😂
