Tolerance is different for 4 time premiership winners compared to fringe first graders. Is his discipline any worse than Jerome’s ?
We tolerate him.
Yes but the point is Souths have ended up with a better version of Bud for half the price we bought the poorer version for.Honestly, who cares. Could Sullivan be the difference between Souths coming 13th and 12th next year? I guess he could, sure. Are we better off with $150k of dead cap or $550k of Bud Sullivan on the roster? Categorically the former. Does "winning" this particular trade have any meaningful impact on anything? Almost certainly not.
One of many blunders... but Benji did sign it offYes but the point is Souths have ended up with a better version of Bud for half the price we bought the poorer version for.
We are getting better with recruitment but that was clearly a big recruitment blunder at the time.
Would'nt mind getting Tommy back at the right price.
It's a very outdated ideology to think that props don't come good until their mid 20s. In reality, by their late 20s most props are done. Very few continue at a high level into their 30s. Props reach their peak by about 23 these daysI think the WTF podcast recommendation of the ex union front rower at the Warriors is inspired. He’s clearly dynamic and raw , yet still learning the game . And as he’s I think 24 now he has a grown man’s body . A guy like that , basically a more dynamic Hunt , is exactly what we should be looking for .
The issue with front rower is , that the best ones outside of that freak in Brisbane , don’t develop properly until 25 plus , but there’s zero patience to develop these guys . Even Pole some people want him dropped tomorrow , and he’s clearly going to be special if he persists on his current trajectory. He just needs to mature.
A huge positive out of expansion will be impatient football departments will have to be more patient and less ruthless in regards to most players , as there will be a shortage on the market . Meaning more money and time to be spent of actually developing juniors . There’s like honestly half the league who are forever purchasing players from other clubs junior systems all the way through to nrl and inclusive .
People talk about the dogs pathway , but a lot of those players were purchased from other junior systems and brought across , rebadged and now we have to accept things like “Alex Conti is a bulldogs junior “ when he went there at 18. Same for manly and the roosters , and even Souths junior league , once the pride of the nrl , has fallen away .
My point is , I think it would be dumb to get an elite front rower . I think someone like Fletcher Baker who could shore up the bench , and a raw project like Toby Crosby has to be the path moving forward . Your spine needs to take up 33% of your cap , to have any chance of a premiership. What I mean by that is not paying Luke Brooks 1 mil , but rather paying luai 1.2m etc . Genuine million dollar players . Which means you have to be stingy in places like winger , and front row .
People saying chase Tino , with Bula coming off contract and Latu going to the market in 2 years have lost thier marbles … development in guys like Tapau Moors and competition for places hopefully should see these guys pushing through around 23 years old and forcing guys like Seyfarth to lift or lose thier spot .
That's not true at all, so are you telling me Pole has no improvement left in him and has hit his peak? Laughable. It's a very outdated ideology to think that props don't come good until their mid 20s. In reality, by their late 20s most props are done. Very few continue at a high level into their 30s. Maybe you missed siones defensive efforts against the cows, amongst others.Slone has been a revelation on the edge. KPP has been floundering.
Did you play league. I didn't but still know more about the game then you. Your takes are ridiculous and borderline trolling. Sione the 5th choice lol what a gronk, nfi.Maybe you missed siones defensive efforts against the cows, amongst others.
He's a solid middle, but 5th choice second rower at best
Using the word gronk at 43 has an air of irony about it.Did you play league. I didn't but still know more about the game then you. Your takes are ridiculous and borderline trolling. Sione the 5th choice lol what a gronk, nfi.
Yep. Wouldn't cost a lot and knows how to find the line.Would'nt mind getting Tommy back at the right price.
Gronk is such a good word, it describes people like balmainboy so wellUsing the word gronk at 43 has an air of irony about it.
With all the positive things going on at the club this is definitely the thing to focus on. Nailed it.Yes but the point is Souths have ended up with a better version of Bud for half the price we bought the poorer version for.
We are getting better with recruitment but that was clearly a big recruitment blunder at the time.
He’s still a dud.Yes but the point is Souths have ended up with a better version of Bud for half the price we bought the poorer version for.

Yes. By a mile. Jerome also has positive qualities tooIs his discipline any worse than Jerome’s ?
We tolerate him.
He'd also been playing first grade for almost 12 years and had largely dominated in this time. Seyfarth is an aggressive toiler who very rarely has ever impacted a game positively for usLike Melbourne tolerates NAS? The bloke is suspended more then he's on the field.
Why does no one ever include the cost of the roster spot in these number comparisons? It’s not just the 150k we’re paying south’s - it’s also the cost of the player we’ve bought to replace him.Honestly, who cares. Could Sullivan be the difference between Souths coming 13th and 12th next year? I guess he could, sure. Are we better off with $150k of dead cap or $550k of Bud Sullivan on the roster? Agree I love Sione but I think he gets found out if he played week to week on the edgeMaybe you missed siones defensive efforts against the cows, amongst others.
He's a solid middle, but 5th choice second rower at best
