Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I think I get it? If we lose a good player because he wants to improve his on field performance at a better managed club, that’s a sign of our success. By that guage the more times that happens the more successful we are. You’ve got me kinda excited about Geyer joining us now that I realise we will ship him back to Penrith a much better player.
Yeah. That was the point. Good one.

It’s impossible to engage with someone who counters with ridiculous hypotheticals. Why do you insist on using two of the best coaches of the modern era in response to a conversation about a rookie with no runs on the board. Give you a tip. Neither of those coaches will ever be sacked. They will get the rare chance to walk away on their terms. Something Benji will most likely not have.
It's almost like you don't want to refer to what your point was...

"I think the biggest issue is how close they are to Benji. Of course you want the coach and players to have a good relationship, but there is such a thing as being too close, and I think proof of that is when supporters start getting anxiety about potential repercussions to the playing group if the coach gets sacked."

"proof" about a hypothetical removal of the existing coach.

What's the priority at the moment V prop or outside back, you heard Richo's pod lately, without him saying it I'm doubting there's much room in the cap unless we shed a couple.

Not saying another quality back isn't needed but without some extra grunt he may not see the ball in space enough.

Mate I would love a Staggs quality back too, we all would, but at the moment that's a Tiger's supporters fantasy.
I know we haven’t got much cap space available and that’s a major problem within itself as it clearly shows we are over paying and/or overspending on some of our currently contracted players.

Does Benji have a mentor? He is still fairly new to coaching and having a “go to” for him to bounce ideas off would be invaluable at this stage of his coaching development.
I don’t think Sheens is on speaking terms with the club so kind of rules him out.

I don’t think Sheens will pick up Benji’s calls just quietly.
Nothing sticks out to say Benji is doing anything wrong from a tactical or coaching messages and instructions point of view.
Our playing style definitely improved in the latter part of the 2025 season, so that’s a good sign to indicate our playing style and coaching methods are evolving in a positive way,
My concerns with Benji’s coaching are now to do with his use of our interchange which I believe needs big improvement and a concern he shows too much loyalty to some players.
Loyalty is good, but you have to be careful not to be blinded by it from a coaching point of view.

Not sure you can change that - loyalty - in any coach - and especially those who have limited players to select from. A coach will always have the human side to consider that fans can't possibly relate to because we just consider how they perform on game day. We have little knowledge of attitude, work ethic, injury status, illness i.e.
For every fan that thinks a player is being used poorly and or shouldn't be selected there is another who thinks otherwise.
A coach has to back themselves because they will never be able to please all the fans all the time.

Benji has made a difference but my take was when we were close 10/20 out we just didn’t attack well and get points we looked lost , unorganised, attack coach needed like Cronk , our running game when on was good , defence did improve we just had bead sections where we turned of and had 12 put on us quick

You're obviously upset about something otherwise you wouldn't resort to abuse and name calling. You would have been more convincing had you agreed or disagreed with my post. Try to acknowledge my good points next time. LOL
I only read the post you responded to, which was well thought out and insightful, and your response, which was either stupid or rude - hence my question. I didn't see anything in what you said that made me think checking out any of your other work would reward my time so I haven't seen any of these supposed good points. If you want your posts to be treated with respect, start by showing the same respect to others.
