doesn't mean they have not paid him. They probably negotiated a package with him to walk away. That way it's a clean break and he can sign a contract elsewhere.

I was all for us signing Nelson at the start of this year but after watching his performances for the Storm this season (when he was actually on the field) I wasn’t real impressed anymore. He seems to have lost the plot a bit and was mostly just causing, and getting into, trouble when he was playing.

They were leaking a lot of points for a good portion of the 2025 season also.
Even throughout the finals their defence wasn’t great, they they had the strike players and x-factor to overcome it.
In saying this good attack helps the defensive mindset.

As others have said, it’s highly unlikely Bula will get Walsh’s level. Is May going to get to Haas’s level? It’s the wrong question to ask.

If Walsh was off contract now he’d easily get $1.5M and probably more. Bula would get about half of that but that doesn’t mean he’s not the best option for us.

Are we a chance to get Walsh? No.

Is there a better option around Bula’s price? I’d say no.

This NAS situation needs to be looked into IMO..

I'm sorry if I'm on 850k for 2 more years and the current club has been shopping me around with NO takers why on earth would you walk away and look for other opportunities????

He is not going to get 850k for 2 years elsewhere so something fishy is happening.
So, if he signed with Dragons for say 600k does the storm have to take 250k each year for 2 years like we have to??

NAS has thanked them and said he is going to consider his options so he must have got some kind of pay out..

He chose to end his contract so no pay out. I reckon he’s locked up for Rugby 360 so he needed it ended.
