Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If Bula goes, who plays fullback? We have no one.

If Luai goes, i wonder what happens with the rest of the squad? Do they all want to leave then?

We can never just have an off season where we fly under the radar.

Ridiculous.
Could also be just media hype , Richo has been quiet from all angles so don’t be surprised if we hear Bulla extends and Luai signs all before Xmas , I may add another player joins us as well , never know you just never know

Is it worthwhile calling the NRL’s bluff is the real question? Do they stick to a 10 year ban if/when it falls over or do they welcome the likes of Lomax back with open arms. Think they also needa be concerned with grassroots players who can still switch codes like RA was hoping Masi would, what’s their punishment if they even get one, because they’re not NRL players
Player and manager I like it but manager just goes around that with a staff member , it should be player and management company banned that way it keeps grubs like mosses on a leash

The Bula angst was starting to smoulder as soon as Moses got his claws into him, just knew it would cause problems down the track.

Hope it's resolved soon, don't want this crap in the back of our minds all summer.
What is it with this viper and the Tigers, just wish he would do something blatantly illegal and be rubbed out of the NRL to the cheers of the crowd.

The NRL has a lot of rules and restrictions they must follow. R360 will not have the same. It’s been said they have some serious cash investment to get it up and running. They are a legitimate threat hence the nrls harsh bans against players and managers. It’ll be interesting to see who jumps ship. Players undoubtedly will still go even with this 10 year ban.

Players in the twilight of their careers looking for a pay day have nothing to lose.

Bula can activate his own extension with us at 800k per season if he really loves the club and wants to stay.
By him not doing that the club knows where they stand with him.
It’s actually 900k . The club has first dibs at 800k , and if not he can take up a 900k option.
The issue is at fullback there is literally like 30-40 guys around who can do a serviceable job @nrl level through to being elite .
The club has Brookes and Oitman coming through , So maybe they see what everyone else like @jrtiger sees.
These kids are guns . Brookes should have been the QLD fullback , but I guess it’s a residency thing .
For me I’d take up the Bula option for a year @800k. It might be slight overs , but it allows the club to breathe a little bit , and also allows a further year for these kids to come through .
They will be 20-21 if Bula takes the option .
But this implication that we have
no one is not true . There’s an absolute over supply of fullbacks , like I’ve said earlier probably because many gun halves coming through were shifted there for multiple reasons .
So whilst your Walsh and Teddy , and potentially Ponga (he’s played like a busted for 2 years now) , command huge money , the incumbent fullback of the Aus team, and the previous 4 premiership fullback is only on 800k . Which is where the true value for most fullbacks sit .
It’s a bit like running back in nfl . The best are paid really well , but if you have a 7or 8 out of ten then you’re probably not paying him that much

Why do people think R360 would chase the fullback of a club that ran 13th in the competition and try and sign him over countless other players in Europe, South Africa etc who already play the game ? We are just being paranoid and it fears into our confirmational bias that we never get a break. He's at more risk of going to another NRL club than he is of going to R360.

Who knows .., they offered Jye Gray $900k a year … had they heard of him ?

Nah it's the other way around ...

The club can exercise its option in Bula’s contract for the 2027 season for $900k. If the club doesn't activate it (I think by Nov-1), Bula can take it up at $800k. It was set up as a safety net for Bula by his previous manager.

Chammas gets confused at times lol
