Jahream Bula #269

So she was sacked.
If your employer doesn’t think you are doing a good enough job and chooses not to extend your employment, that means you have been sacked.
Omg.
I work as a contractor: When the project/contract length is up I find another one.

This does not mean I was sacked. It means I have fulfilled the role for the duration of the contract.

If this were you, would you tell your next employer you were sacked?

In any case, I think way too much weight is being given to the club not offering a NEW contact to an nrlw development player, regardless of who she's married to.

Richo said he is worth the upgrade, based on how he was playing before his injury. Ive expected the upgrade in Bula's favor to be taken up since then, and I agree with you that its just a bit of shithousery from Moses. A flex and a shot across the bow. I'd be very very surprised if he leaves, and I really don't think discussions over 11odd% wages here or there would be the decisive factor.
Look we know this game.

Offer bula 50k extra. Let Moses say "wow I got a wonderful deal negotiated"... he gets the commission and Bula stays.

Bula isn't a gun, but he is a good -> great player. We should keep him.

800k 1m it's fine because we need him on the field.

I was thinking about that last week - could very well be another Greg Inglis with is size and pace.
I think Bula is far more akin to GI than Makinhisi. Does the kid even have that gliding running style and agility. He is more a straight up and down bash and barge type is he not?

What makes a great fullback, 'bash and barge' is a big part of it, these days

Fullbacks like Tedesco, Walsh, Edwards who are very strong and can bounce out of tackles, they don't mind the 'tough' runs.

Has Bula go that in him? There's every chance but he needs to show it soon.

While Makinsini has shown that already.

I guess you have a link to this 'club doesnt think shes good enough' idea

Seems a.lot of speculation again from you

I’ll agree with you with the tough carry’s. But I’m not sure about the agility to split defence in a backline play. I haven’t seen enough of him but the kid looks to be a hulk. He is more like Folau than Inglis from the outside it seems. Yes I know Folau played fullback; but that was rugby. Bit different.

Hardly spectaculation, clubs tend to keep or at least try to keep the players they are happy with.
She was not offered a new contract, hardly a sign the club was happy with her and wanted to keep her moving forward.

Where there's smoke, there's fire.
How many of these scenarios have started like this the last few years? Ice, Galvin, TDS. The script is the same here. Weeks/months of speculation with people arguing the validity, but it always seems to end the same way. In completely unrelated news, do yourself a favour and don’t get too attached to Makisini.

Actually,Makasini looks more a Latrell type than GI or anyone else/
Tbh.Latrelle is quite a gifted athlete, albeit with significant attitude problems which our Newington educated kid will likely avoid
Give Makasini next year in the outside backs to develop ,and lets see what hes got to offer...and if he has the requisite skills for FB. with have the off season end of next year to groom him
He will be great wherever we play him

getting so sick of this contracts BS.

NRL should have a clause in there that if the player rescinds or fails to stay with the team until their contract, then they return 50% of the money they've earned. If your agent approaches the club saying we want an upgrade or that there is interest from other teams, they lose 50% of their money.

It is actually getting ridiculous.

Ban those who speak to R360 but the ones who renege on their current contract get punished with going to the team of their choice at a higher rate.

Absolute rubbish. Only the NRL is to blame for this, no one else.

Does this happen in other sports or codes?

Where there's smoke, there's fire. The common denominator in every conspicuous management negotiation is Isaac Moses, a man with no integrity and an axe to grind against the Tigers.

There are a lot of people looking into every part of his operations, like they did after the Tim Mannah saga.
You can guarantee that anyone managed by Moses will move elsewhere, despite whatever $$ we throw at them
Only way to change that is start moving up the ladder and play in finals, which defies Moses arguments that were a rubbish club and Benji cant coach
Even then.Moses still has an axe to grind against WTs
Having said that ,once players sign with Moses you need to immediately start planning their replacement
Which is why Im so disappointed with Bula...

Totally agreed.

Do we need this Moses Drama?

We resigned AD for 350k, which is a lot less then I thought it would be. But that meant keeping Issac Moses around.

NOPE: and I hate it, we should just ditch Issac Moses players.

I actually felt for Bula as his player manager left us. So he looked around for a manager and Issac Moses was there ARRGH! This was an owngoal, this is on US!

We must root this guy out of our club. I don't care whatever talent Issac has ready to ruin the bulldogs, we need to get this guy out. Otherwise we have these total circus's.

Now Bula is a great player, but imagine if he was the next GI? If he seriously played at that autoselect for Australia level. There is Zero chance of him playing for us with IM as his manager. But there is a strong chance with Issac running around that he will sign a gun playing for us as his own and inject a stack of drama with it.

Remove him from our club now.

Either Offer BUla 1m to change managers or just punt him now.

I'd rather ditch Moses. Bula is an asset.

its all smoke n mirrors,Richo n Moses playing games .
Its all on the man Bula to pull the trigger
If he thinks he can make easy riches here , he may as well go sit on the bench with Da Silva

Bula hasn't bulked up or improved his game in the last 2 years
Sheens pampered him in Reggie's,- stand there, don't do anything just observe, by all accounts that's all he did, that's a red flag

All Richo has to do is pick up Bula’s option for 2027 …and then poor old Moses gets nothing for managing him for 2 years …I hope Richo does it out of spite
