I find it interesting that Bula employs Moses given the managers relationship with the club. Particularly if he wants to remain with the Tigers...

The sooner we release that players don't care about clubs the better. They care about money and premierships

It’s funny, plenty on here are excited by Ethan Roberts even though he had a poor year this year and went from the verge of NRL to finishing the year in Flegg.

Yet Saukuru made some huge strides last year after moving to second row. One of our best in Flegg after the move and has improved every single game since.

I wouldn’t be shocked if Saukuru continued his rise and jumped both Roberts and Geyer at some point next year.

Found his position in 2nd row with the ability to cover centre if injury strikes mid match. Attacking game in my opinion would fit in just fine at NRL level already (would be good to see him maybe go looking for a bit more work though). Big pre-season and year ahead working on his defence and fitness/effort areas to take him to the next level. Really hope he is one that kicks on in 2026!

I agree with the premise but I think it needs to go the other way. A 4 year contract for a kid deemed worth it is fine. But each year gets activated by the kid meeting KPIs. With no get out clauses for the kid.
So it's not an 'option' for him to activate the next year with KPIs, it automatically happens.
This Keeps the performers tied to us and gives them a clear path and expectations forward. Non performers dropped naturally. And doesn't come across as we're not confident in them which I think get out clauses would say.

Who designs and sets the KPI'S.
Both agree to the hypothetical KPI. Nothing would get signed.
I think if the club pays the contract money, they should have the say if they are up to standard or not and whether they stay, upgrade or go elsewhere.

for sure, bula is a good player but there is heaps of talent at fullback at the moment with a lot of clubs having 2 good fullbacks, like if we did a list ranking all of the fullback would Bula really rank that highly

I watched todays Bati-Kumal game.
Bula was so ordinary, and as for sprint coaching, he showed none today. Followed the ruck but made no impact there or in the backline.
On todays performance you would only offer him $700k max.
Glad there is a stalemate with Richo and the apparent contract dollars/extension.
Hold firm and plan the future without Bula/Moses.
Three seasons now and his performances have not improved to the point where he is a must keep at all costs IMO.

Too many unfortunately. It’s almost as big a thorn as the 05 side.

For some reason, almost the entire Matt's winning team was under 6 foot. They did well against boys but up against men they've all struggled. We have to recruit and retain players with the physical traits of a modern NRL player. For some reason we keep trying to find a needle in a haystack rather than play the odds.

Almost, yet we signed the two tallest, Miller and Galvin to NRL deals and they didn’t work out either!

No. You don't. No other club does this. You say you can leave, that's fine but not unless we sign a replacement first.

I get a feeling we've offered him 650-700k a season and not budging. Paying him what he's worth. No one will pay him more than 700k. No-one.

He wld have been very well briefed re the WTs/Moses situation,and strongly dissuaded to go with him ..yet signed up anyway
