Breaking news: HBG takeover

He doesnt have to suck up anything - the man has pride and reputation unlike the organization that he works for ! You are showing your inability to look at this objectively - we need him more than he needs us.
Clearly anything other than pokies and snitzel is too sophisticated for HBG and their factions. They couldn’t even get Magpies membership numbers right.

I think there is a second tier to this too. Even if some decisions were mistakenly believed it was in the normal operations of the business and not taken to board, then is dismissing the board the correct action? Where's the escalation to the board?

WT would have had to deliberately circumvent the board multiple times after escalation to result in something as extreme as dissolution of the board.. and it would have involved richo who has not been sacked.
True I just think the HBG would be well aware of likely repercussions if their actions turn out to be sinister and unwarranted.
That being the case you would think there is at least some substance to warrant their actions.

If the Magpies do come back .. would it be solely Ashfield Magpies or would it be Ashfield, Campbelltown and Lidcombe? Either way, the same old problems will exist.

Yep! same problems that have netted ZERO premierships since the debenture systems inception in 1955, noting that 2005 was an even 50/50 split. Nothing will change until the boy's club of wests (HBG/Ashfield) is gone, and people are held accountable and voted in or out based on merit.

You’re wrong . It was discussed . There’s 2 HBG reps in the tigers board . It’s thier job to Liaise back with HBG , especially considering one of them is the HBG chairman. If there’s a lack of communication it’s because he hasn’t been fulfilling his function correctly .
As for the jersey being the reason . Most know that it is not the jersey but rather the wests tigers board , has been becoming increasingly bolden to distance itself from the HBG( probably because of all the bullshit ) with putting KPIs to have autonomy to govern itself . This is the real reason . The HBG wants full control of this asset it doesn’t really give a shit about .
Did you actually read what he said - He is suggesting that its possible O'Farrel is making decisions without consulting board members. I'm not suggesting thats true but it definitely is possible that he is overstepping his powers.

They've already done this three times (once at WT level and twice at HBG group) with no repercussions. So they probably think they can keep doing it.

Id say there is something, of course. But to me the question is if that was deliberate and/or if issues were raised democratically at the board. If both of those are not true, then yes they may have a cause, but not to dissolving the board.

I think in their heads, they've normalised this kind of action to solve disagreements. Which is a major issue.

Thats micromanagement. Anything that was in the remit of needing board approval , went to the board . Otherwise , do these people not understand entirely independent board ? Like seriously what insight is Denis and his joker mates who’ve been retired for 20 years , about the financial decisions of the day to day running of the club. Like seriously ? It was the whole point of the review to stop that shit from happening … because HBG= OLD geriatrics with nothing better to do then screw shit up because life is boring when you get old ..
I don't know how old you are but your life must be pretty boring when you sit around all day and half the night on a football forum whingeing that things aren't done the way you want them done.

You're right. I'm old enough to remember the 1961, 1962 and 1963 grand final losses to St George. Ron Casey from channel 9 interviewed Arthur Summons after the 1963 grand final. It went like this.
Ron Casey : "Arthur, who do you blame for today's loss?"
Arthur : not Darcy Lawler, that's for sure, Ron. It's our f...ing debenture system. You can't beat a quality side like Saints with a f...ing debenture system hanging over your head. Same happened last year and the year before. We're f...ed unless we get rid of it, Ron."
