Breaking news: HBG takeover

Richo might actually go mental trying to work out where the HBG is coming from. From outside looking in they look to be trying to self sabotage the football club they own 90% of?
Absolutely self sabotage,Richo has resurrected many clubs and the Tigers , can I say Tigers ? I mean Wests Tigers is going to break him unfortunately.. hopefully he continues, and I reckon he will .Of he does it will be the biggest notch on his belt if we find so success next year having to deal with these cu.nts .

Can someone tell me, what powers do NSW gaming and liquor have? How can they help to get rid of the HBG?

Is there a world in which the NRL can buy out the HBG until they find a better suitor?

And how much would it cost to buy out the HBG? What's the Wests tigers worth as a club?

The revelation that it is about making the club into magpies has got to be one of the dumbest agendas I think I can recall ever .
If the tigers become the magpies the club will fold in a year. They won’t get 2k to their games . Mainly because it will be seen for what it is , the whims of geriatric men to turn back time before they pass on . It serves litterally no one else . The club would lose 5-10 mil in one season .
This forum is in a vacuum a small percentage of the overall fanbase , and it is beyond obvious that the “tiger”is the attraction not the wests .
It’s laughable ….. it’s ridiculous.
I hope the nrl are serious here . I can see them stepping in . Especially if the rally gets a decent turn out. It will put extreme pressure on the nrl and HBG. PVL would be furious.

Pretty sure gaming has the power to change the old debenture system, just don't know what's required to get involved.

There’s laws around clubs operating not in the best interest of thier constituents. Clubs are meant to be for the community, and if it’s proven that this isn’t happening anymore , the board will be removed and replaced.
It’s what happened at the eels in 2000s.
I don’t know how it’s legal that on 18 people have an opportunity to get on the board , and there’s no democratic process . To me that in itself would fix 80% of the issue . These people wouldn’t be able to do these things if there was a chance they wouldn’t get voted out at the next election. If anything that’s what the gaming commission should look to axe Z

I have a concern with age when it comes to people in position of power, in this case the HBH board. Age has an impact on cognitive functioning. While it can begin as early as 30-40 it usually declines significantly after 70 years of age. Some lucky people maintain fully functioning cognitive ability for their entire lives. Unfortunately I’ve witnessed several close friends, over 70 destroy their families, friendships and businesses and leave behind a trail of destruction when they passed away. Early succession planning is the best safeguard, empower the next generation to take over before the decline sets in and perspective becomes clouded.
I'm 74 and ran an organisation of 1,300 + people until I was 65. I know I have slipped in some areas e.g remembering names off the top of my head but there are some areas where I think I'm as good as I was at my best. I don't mind the view that the older one gets the less likely they are to be as effective but I do not like some of the disrespect that has been shown to people of age on this forum in this thread. One poster had the good grace to acknowledge this tonight and I admire him for it.

Maybe it's something in the Thai I just ate, but could this circus could be a good thing?

-HBG mediocrity is now on public display.
-Journos are actually on our side.
- PVL is a better businessman than anyone at HBG and is connected out the waaahhzooo...

This next week is going to be a painful wait as to what happens next

Is there any reason if HGB roll over, Barry and the independents are reinstated ,with PVL showing his stick ,that things progress behind the scenes

I think it is only because the older generation (if anyone) are the ones which are still hung up on the Balmain or Wests side of the merger. Everyone else supports Wests Tigers. So more or less once all those old supporters cark it the club should start to move in the right decision. Well at least if the board were to cark it.

You’re literally saying the exact opposite to what he’s saying … how did you join those dots in your head ?
The issue isn’t competence . The issue is “best interest of wests tigers “ and how can anyone and I mean anyone , whether you’re 55 or 40 or 90 or 70 , say they are doing what’s best for wests tigers if their allegiance is to one of the foundation clubs . Anyone who’s heard Dennis speak for example everything is wests or magpies .. it’s written all over his head where his allegiance is.
That is the issue . And the older you are , when you’re talking percentages of life the more likely your core allegiance is not to wests tigers . If you’re 75 and you’ve been following the same team since you were 5 , that means 2 thirds of your life you’ve been a magpies fan . So understandably that’s where your heart lies .
If you’re 40 , that means 55–60% of your life you’ve been a wests tigers fan. If you’re 50 it’s half your life .
Thats what the issue is. And if you want to claim agism as a thing , it’s not because you’re old . It’s because your age means your loyalty is elsewhere.
There’s millions of studies that dictate how and where and why and length of time it takes to form an allegiance .
We need people who are loyal to wests tigers and only wests tigers .

Hmmm yes. Reiterating we need those supporters of wests magpies or Balmain tigers to cark it (of natural causes mind you) to assist the club moving forward.

Mmmm

you have more than made your point , suck it up

I wonder if Richos reluctance to go to Vegas has anything to do with HBGs antics?

Id imagine Dennis had already researched where the best spots for instagram photos were
It was only a few weeks ago people were claiming our club/Richo were being punished with the first round bye for not wanting to go to Vegas. Now they are expecting PVL to be the club’s white knight
