Honestly, I think people don't really care anymore.I applaude your caution around the sensitivities, but anyone who remembers eiither foundation club has had the same amount of time to adjust. Management and fans included. 25 years is a long time to hold a grudge. Not long enough it seems for some.
Seriously the vote at the time for Balmain was 92-4 from memory. It was only the "boxing Tiger" who really objected. Wests supporters saw the writing on the wall and understood their team needed to merge.
Not saying were not proud Magpies or proud Balmain supporters. The people are still there and that's still awesome. It's just time to move on and cheer for the Wests Tigers. There will be no demerger, if Wests Tigers is removed, both teams will be gone.
IF you want to ask a question, ask this one. Does anyone think the Perth Bears is really North Sydney Bears?
Seriously anyone. Their culture is gone, the team has been out for 20+ years and they will be lucky to get an ex Norths player involved (wait, that's probably Jason Taylor, ok Unlucky).
