HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

Still nothing from Richo - do you reckon he is just sitting back making HBG sweat and see the impact of this call and then will ride on in next week and save us all?
The silence is certainly deafening. I just hope it is an order from PVL and the NRL to keep quiet on the matter so that they can do their internal investigations and then take HBG to the cleaners (we can only hope).

Triple M saying Richo will be forced to resign.

Todd Lubinskas has been thrown out there as a candidate. No pedigree other than being a Magpies reserve grader.

Makes sense HBG would want to go this way...install an inexperienced puppet CEO for total control.

Shocking work by HBG if this comes to fruition.

Sure you're not confusing a perceived Balmain identity with a Wests Tigers identity?

I wish Wests and Balmain would just sod off,
so the Wests Tigers can just be the Wests Tigers,

Without having to worry about who being the Wests Tigers is upsetting this week.

Isn't he a Personal Trainer?

My goodness.....

HBG can not change the emblem. The licence is Wests Tigers and the NRL aren't going to allow that to change. Thats not my gripe - i can't stand the hypocrites on here who continually keep pushing its not a balmain vs wests thing and then in the next breath say they will walk away if there is no Balmain identity left. They are the same ones who continually abuse anyone who has the temerity to say anything good about the magpies. And yes i'm an old magpies supporter but i know they are never going to be back in the NRL. I'm also appalled at what HBG has done but level headed enough to at least wait and see how this all plays out before i rush off to buy a razor to slash my wrists. Most of my recent comments have been tongue in cheek because i am really having quite a laugh at a lot of the totally unhinged, manic and OTT rants on here.
Because you wouldn’t be supporting the wests tigers anymore .. you’d be supporting the wests magpies . The “ tigers” is the inference that it’s a new club . It has its foundation in Balmain sure , but Balmain is gone , and now the clubs r support is wests tigers . I don’t want to go for wests magpies . I didn’t as a kid from the south west , I don’t now .
But here’s the thing all you magpies supporters won’t acknowledge, let’s be serious you’re the ones with the agenda , wests Ashfield is not west C-town . They’re litterally upset right now because the tigers have said they want to play the majority of thier games at C -town moving forward. ( I have my reservations about the ground re. Atmosphere and attendance , but not the general idea). As well as the orange in the jersey . Those are the “commercial decisions” they weren’t consulted about.
The problem is Everytime you hear tigers - you hear Balmain . Everytime the rest of us hear tigers we hear Wests. Which is ironic because Wests are the ones imploding the club, because just like you, they assume outdated loyalties from 25 years ago.
I want to go for the tigers . Preference is wests tigers . If they go away , then I hope easts tigers come in. Hopefully with some alignment to Balmain because that would be a nice nod to tradition . But I think I’d still support them even if that didn’t happen.
I don’t want to go for a bird. And I especially don’t want to go for a club like wests magpies , who’s associated in the nrl community with ineptitude, and barely keeping afloat.
To imply any different is to deny history. There was a reason the clubs merged . And I’ve been a big advocate of Wests. And even watched my own bias’ from Balmain shift to wests Campbelltown as I see the future there more and more . But there is no future for wests tigers in the inner west of Ashfield . That is certain!

Correct , the nrl needs to make them change the system and have a members vote like normal clubs , football club members , it’s not hard and it can be done , issue the flogs who have those $ 2 debentures won’t want to let go , nrl needs to really stand up hear and just simply say if it’s not done we don’t renew the licence ,Magpies , Wests Tigers all gone send licence to NZ and bring in South Island team
Id doubt the NRL would have the authority to make such demands...only guessing...L&G NSW would probably be the mob to do this.
The archaic debenture system is the issue as been stated many times.
Im concerned that while HBG are incompetent and amateur is that enough for the NRL to demand change
I think they may have just covered their arses enough
We shall see

That’s mental will Millenkamp sitting right there in Campbelltown everyday… surely if that decision was made in itself it would be grounds for malpractice . Who the hell is Todd Lubinskas

I don't think HBG is sweating on Richo. They (some of them) are delusional enough to think they can be successful without him.
I agree with Read and think the only dilemma for Richo will be walking out on the people he has brought to the club. Outside of that, I don't see how he could stay on as HBG have just shat all over the hard work he and others have done the last couple of years. Its incredibly disappointing as a supporter of WT, I could only imagine how it would feel to be in the shoes of Richo. He doesn't suffer fools, so ill be really surprised if he stays on.
Never say never, but from a personal view, if/when Richo walks, so will I. The club has snookered me for memberships already for next year but I only renewed for 2025 once the Independents were appointed and made it very clear to the membership team at the time when they kept trying to get me to renew, that I wouldn't do so unless the Independents were appointed. Ive seen enough of HBG over the years to know nothing good happens when they are running things, so I won't be going through that again.

Most of the people being highly critical have no idea that these ex players are trying to right the wrongs and it is naive, uneducated and disrespectful to either not have any idea who they are or still want to attack them for their association with HBG without any knowledge that they have done anything wrong as individuals.
Your earlier point that Noisy and Leo are.being made.out as criminals is highly exaggerated.

Id.like to know a bit more about how theyre trying to right the wrongs

Hear what you say FP.

The 4 constants are Dennis Burgess, Stephen Montgomery, Vince Tropiano & Michael Liubinskis.

I would hazzard a guess these 4 are their own faction given recent (1-2 years) happenings at HBG with Romero, Wayde, Gilbert & Andrecchio.

Can you enlighten us any more FP or am I correct in my connecting the dots?

I'm only deducing from the events that have transpired with the WA board coups, and the director in that time that remains on both (including WT) boards. There is an apparent constant figure and assumed ring-leader in all of these events, aided and abetted by allies already within the debenture holder group.

Andreacchio, Wayde, (both member-elected at WA) and Gilbert were ousted due to being chief supporters of the independent review. Romero was ousted for supporting and implementing the review findings.

Furthermore, there were 3 debenture holder vacancies with Gilbert giving up his after wiping his hands of WA. They have since been allocated to WSDRLFC board members. So basically, the debenture holders are back to the full 20, having been topped up by the 'Make Magpies Great Again' movement. It's not unlike the Don appointing his conservative chief justices of the supreme court. It will solidify the staunch Magpie support at WA for at least another couple of decades. They should drop the charade of Barnes in the name. It's just there so they can expand their gaming empire to Rozelle.

Look, I expect the WA group to be predominantly aligned with Wests Magpies as they are the club's roots and what the club was formed to advance. But the puppet master is a staunch Magpie, and he has reinforced the debenture holder group with staunch magpies who's skill set is essentially administering WSDRLC - an organisation that does virtually nothing apart from a BBQ at Lidcombe Oval game days, and is wholly funded by WA. These guys are the new blood and next potential directors at WA who will have a huge influence on the NRL team's strategy going forward. And their loyalty and vision is aligned to the bird, not a hybrid of them and a big cat.

The only chance the NRL club has now for and end to WA meddling, and future success, is for WA to be stripped of it's license.

I might be in a limited party here, but I don't want to kick HBG out. They've done some good stuff, including bringing the Balmain clubs under their umbrella and they're a great supporter of junior league.

We simply need to have the HBG board up for a vote and keep this separate WT model. That's it. Remove the debentures, make people accountable. Allow people to vote for the best for the HBG board. If that's Dennis after he faces a vote, so be it. I doubt it would be, but if it is, then that's a proper members-based structure.

This current structure should honestly be illegal for a members club.
Good point.
Balmain Junior League are dependant on HBG....guarantees would need to be sought they are continued to be funded and.looked after should holman barnes be dismantled
