HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

Harry got pissed off when Pascoe stopped giving him free handouts.

Pretty sure it was when the morons at Balmain Leagues decided to listen to Benny's consortium to build the new premises, that ended up being their downfall. Harry said after all the time he spent there, the money he put into it, he said we could have helped with the council issues we could have helped with the planning issues, he said he never even got a call. That's when he washed his hands.

They haven't just removed the board though, have they. There's been 8 directors kicked off, in 3 rounds across two boards. Protection of an apparent harassment case because they needed his vote, lawsuits between directors, and persistence wifh significant structural issues effecting proper member representation. That's just what is public.

LIcensing and Gaming have already investigated HBG when Wade and Co got punted and found no cause to pursue the matter. Presently the only thing LG have said is that they are monitoring the situation. In other words they don't give a toss at this stage.

I can't see HBG selling or being forced to sell, I wish it would happen. But only to a consortium with considerable money and we remain the Wests Tigers. There is no more Magpies and Balmain. Today's kids only know Wests Tigers.

“The HBG will fall under the control of a cabal of four. … Their misguided ambition is to see the Western Suburbs Magpies replace the Wests Tigers in the NRL competition.”

It’s all PR spin from Paton this week, the plan is to ultimately replace the Tigers with Magpies.

The cabal referred to is Burgess, Montgomery, Tropiana with Lubinski now forming a majority on the HBG board with Paton as their gimp.

Do you know PVL’s recent history in Racing NSW and prior to that Harness Racing NSW before becoming involved with the NRL ?
The man is a magician and I don’t say that lightly about anyone.
He will force HBG to either eat humble pie and make massive changes which would quite possibly involve reinstating the dismissed board members, or if they don’t comply he will back them into a corner and make things so untenable that selling would be there only viable option.
There is no doubt he will intervene and get things back in order and I expect it will all happen very fast.
Richo would have already walked unless he was waiting on some big changes to happen and I’m guessing he’s already had in depth conversations with PVL about it.

I agree.
I have not been arguing about that and I am also not arguing that it appears DB is a bad apple and needs to be removed.
As for HBG itself, I assume PVL will take action if there latest actions have been done without any justification and rightly so.
The other HBG board member who currently sits on the Wests Tigers board is ex Magpies player Leo Epifania. At this stage he has not been accused of any wrongdoing except being guilty by association to HBG. Nobody knows if he has done anything wrong yet he is also being made out to be a criminal due to his association with HBG.
Then on a prominent Facebook page another old Magpies warrior Allan Fallah is also being attacked by people who appear to have no idea he’s an ex player who spilled blood and guts for the Magpies jersey.
For these ex players who have not been found to have done anything wrong, yet are being victimised as guilty by association to the Wests Magpies and the HBG is an absolute disgrace and a total lack of respect towards people who paved the way for Wests Tigers to even exist.

The Wests Tigers generate more of their own revenue than the HBG provides. I also think the NRL Grant is poorly named for what it actually is. The majority of the 'NRL Grant' comes from broadcasting agreements.

All clubs are providing the NRL with product (games)to sell to the broadcasters. Ultimately the Grant is payment for that product and shouldn’t be considered a grant in the traditional sense.

Yeah mate I wasn't disagreeing, more stating that the NRL Grant isn't a handout. That is money the club is generating. Which means the club generates far more money than the hbg provides.

Hell the HBG would make more money out of the food and drink they sell during Wests Tigers games on the big screen then the grant they provide to the Wests Tigers.

Our major sponsor is a million $ deal so not far behind the hbg either.
