HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

Our fans got an independent review off the ground at HBG (fat lot of good I know), if enough people get behind this I think PVL will act. He’s a working class operator like Richo.
What can he do though?
Tell the owners of the club to stop being mean to independent directors?

Ok going to play devils advocate for a second. But in saying the below I don't believe it, I believe HBG have sacked O'Farrell and co for stupid reasons or money.

But, lets pretend... What reason would trigger a firing of 4 directors?
A jersey colour. ROFL. (The souths Sailor Moon jersey is far worse).

Money? Yes. So we expanded to Ctown stadium and that's a 50m commitment. Wests Ashfield would be spewing at having to pay for something that big at Leumeah, if Money is tight then that blunder would really stand out. ... Ofcourse you have 2x directors on both boards, to sack the other 4 directors is a joke unless those 2x directors claim no knowledge (which is also sackable).
.. So maybe.

Honestly I wonder. We have 3 women as Independent Directors and Barry O'Farrell ex Premier. I mean they are pretty bright stars. Thinking that the HBG directors got jealous, which sounds petty but makes some sense. They saw the Jersey as an opportunity to get their way. .. Maybe

Still lost as to the reason behind all this.

My only comment on what you’ve said is HBG didn’t think it through very well. If they say communication was the biggest issue and it’s clear to everyone that there were two directors common to both boards then blind Freddy would ask why sack four directors off the WT board and leave the common directors in place. That just defies logic and commonsense.
It supports Nepotism though.

Which I think is one reason behind this.

Why would the NRL bother going to such lengths?
They have more on their plate to deal with than this constant drama.
The NRL have already taken control of our board once.

Governance is part of the licensing agreement too. It's in the interests of the NRL to have functioning clubs.

Not to mention, V'Landys has said publicly that the NRL will investigate...so that's why...because PVL said so.

He can say your debenture system has caused the club and the league 15 years of embarrassment. It's not fit for purpose and we don't want it. Start finding a buyer because we won't be renewing under your ownership.

Branding is never Trivial. It’s the most’critical communication tool. Marketing is why you choose the car you drive , the céréal you eat and the team you stick with.
The Joint Venture is a
Case study in what not to do.
Successivé Managements have demonstrated galactic stupidity for two décades. To be arguîng at this stage about how much orange is in a jersey is pathetic and embarrassing. It’s not just old fart die hards who are responsible for this travesty. Everyone who drew a salary under false prétences and failed to exploit the passion and loyalty of the fans and athlètes to serve the Tigers brand is to blame. The Tiger is an apex prédator in the wild. It is predominantly black and gold on top ànd underneath it is white in near équal measure. To all you clueless nincompoops, the Tigers are going nowhere. Deal with it.
Branding is important, but going to totally disagree.

Our Branding is pretty good. Good logo, good colourisation.

Easily recognised, picture of Tiger face. Logo incorporates both clubs but not in a hideous way. Our Jersey's look like real NRL jerseys (better then most teams). ...
Colours are very clear Orange, Black and White and we stand out compared to most teams (i.e. Easts vs Cronulla or Dolphins vs St George).

Ok minus editing, Penrith was going down this route.

Penrith also went the 5 different colours in the 80's (which kinda worked).

Our problem is not branding but product. We need to win on the field.

Yes that’s probably his only play.
You can’t blame him either, this club has contributed nothing but bad press and cringe for many many years now.
It is a soap opera.
That said, if we think he may pull that rein, why are people encouraging others to contact him?

I hate marches but I'm going and so are my family. I was filthy last year when they turned on each other while promising that they would honor the recommendations of the review, and made lame excuses/accusations for why they dismissed the directors that supported the review.
Less than 12 months later the chair in Romero who Richardson publically acknowledged as being fully supportive is knifed, and now they have done the same to the independents which now makes Richardson's( - the only person who has successfully fulfilled his role in every NRL club that he has been at)- position untenable
No worries they can parachute one of their debenture relations into the positon..

I'm reacting and fed up. They are full of BS and have no history of any level of success and with any steps that look like being positive they sabotage them in an effort to flex their muscle and maintain control. There is never any joy following and supporting this club yet they think they can stomp on us every year and we will turn up for more of the same. News flash the players don't give a crap about how big the Magpie is or the Tiger for that matter they just put the jersey on they are told to wear and play for the club. If they are good enough they will win and if they are not they won't - the same at every club. The difference being successful clubs attract and retain the best players while our history is the opposite under the current governance

They are indefensible phonies who individually own nothing but wield their power while systematically making it near impossible for the club to be taken seriously.
Dramatic wound up you bet - who wouldnt be after years of tolerating this crap.
