I can't see HBG selling or being forced to sell, I wish it would happen. But only to a consortium with considerable money and we remain the Wests Tigers. There is no more Magpies and Balmain. Today's kids only know Wests Tigers.Could only hope so.... Not like the tigers wouldn't have interested investors that could chip in with laundry...
YEP - but the mods here let the pro-Magpies trolls run rampant because they were blind to reality! Here it is one & all, suspended HBG board member Tony Andreaccio told us 12 months ago.
“The HBG will fall under the control of a cabal of four. … Their misguided ambition is to see the Western Suburbs Magpies replace the Wests Tigers in the NRL competition.”
It’s all PR spin from Paton this week, the plan is to ultimately replace the Tigers with Magpies.
The cabal referred to is Burgess, Montgomery, Tropiana with Lubinski now forming a majority on the HBG board with Paton as their gimp.
@FacePalm is there one who wields the power in this cabal in your view? The puppetmaster as you have suggested.

Do you know PVL’s recent history in Racing NSW and prior to that Harness Racing NSW before becoming involved with the NRL ?I can't see HBG selling or being forced to sell, I wish it would happen. It smells like HBG are very happy to play the long game right through to 2030 when the heritage deed expires for the Wests Tigers. At this time the club can attempt to change to Magpies with NRL approval. This year must be all about regaining control of the club which they lost due to Rick Wayde, Tony Andrecchio & Dave Gilbert supporting the review & then Julie Romero the implementation. Now all 4 are gone.Correct

Great post Vicious...Without doubt you are the most sensible poster on here.I agree.
I have not been arguing about that and I am also not arguing that it appears DB is a bad apple and needs to be removed.
As for HBG itself, I assume PVL will take action if there latest actions have been done without any justification and rightly so.
The other HBG board member who currently sits on the Wests Tigers board is ex Magpies player Leo Epifania. At this stage he has not been accused of any wrongdoing except being guilty by association to HBG. Nobody knows if he has done anything wrong yet he is also being made out to be a criminal due to his association with HBG.
Then on a prominent Facebook page another old Magpies warrior Allan Fallah is also being attacked by people who appear to have no idea he’s an ex player who spilled blood and guts for the Magpies jersey.
For these ex players who have not been found to have done anything wrong, yet are being victimised as guilty by association to the Wests Magpies and the HBG is an absolute disgrace and a total lack of respect towards people who paved the way for Wests Tigers to even exist.
You do realise that what you described is the opposite of debating?Great post Vicious...Without doubt you are the most sensible poster on here.
You're not allowing yourself to get carried away with all the unsubstantiated rumours and b/s that's floating around here.
You've covered issues from both sides and done it responsibly and fairly without fear of retaliation.
I imagine you must have had experience in debating.
My wish is that a lot more on here follow your example.
It’s interesting, from what you said, the NRL tip in ten times as much as HBG to WT. that money ultimately comes from all of us. So the NRL (and by extension we) fund WT.Its our club mate, we can fight for it.

They have to meet the obligations in their licence agreement. It’s interesting how you said the NRL tip in ten times as much as HBG to WT. that money ultimately comes from all of us. So the NRL (and by extension we) fund WT.
What requirements do HBG need to fulfill to keep getting this massive grant that we all pay for, do you know?
Have you seen the specifics? They have to meet the obligations in their licence agreement.
The Wests Tigers generate more of their own revenue than the HBG provides. I also think the NRL Grant is poorly named for what it actually is. The majority of the 'NRL Grant' comes from broadcasting agreements. It’s interesting, from what you said, the NRL tip in ten times as much as HBG to WT. that money ultimately comes from all of us. So the grant money is from tv subscribers and advertising revenue, or in other words, our eyeballs. The Wests Tigers generate more of their own revenue than the HBG provides. All clubs are providing the NRL with product (games)to sell to the broadcasters. Ultimately the Grant is payment for that product and shouldn’t be considered a grant in the traditional sense.
Yeah mate I wasn't disagreeing, more stating that the NRL Grant isn't a handout. That is money the club is generating. Which means the club generates far more money than the hbg provides. So the grant money is from tv subscribers and advertising revenue, or in other words, our eyeballs.
It's from NRL combined licensing revenue (broadcast - sponsors - partnerships - gaming - merchandise etc)So the grant money is from tv subscribers and advertising revenue, or in other words, our eyeballs.
It all just adds weight to PVL holding HBG to account, if most of their fans are against their actions over a prolonged period, and the product let’s face it has been shit, why should they be getting a big fat grant? That licensing agreement would be an interesting read.Yeah mate I wasn't disagreeing, more stating that the NRL Grant isn't a handout. That is money the club is generating. Hell the HBG would make more money out of the food and drink they sell during Wests Tigers games on the big screen then the grant they provide to the Wests Tigers.
Our major sponsor is a million $ deal so not far behind the hbg either.
Believe me it is being read closely atm by a number of people. It all just adds weight to PVL holding HBG to account, if most of their fans are against their actions over a prolonged period, and the product let’s face it has been shit, why should they be getting a big fat grant?
