HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

All of you who are out! At least hang on until Saturday

Don't penalise the football club. Don't bombard them with your emails. They have no control over this, and Wests Ashfield won't receive any of it.

Head to the march this weekend! Grab anyone you know to go with you. The Wests Tigers need you more than ever now, and numbers are required.
I'm not giving them my phone number, though. Maybe a registered post letter, so it c an be proven it was received. I don't know. I'm so sad 😞

I was born and bred magpie. I grew in Ashfield/Croydon. Went to school in Ashfield. Put a Magpie jersy on for our area code. BUT I'M A Wests Tiger. 2000 was my new club it hurt but not for long. I love the Tigers. I live in WA now and crave to watch them every week in season. I just feel lost what are these dumb F'S doing. Move and let us enjoy our club. No matter how bad we have been. PERTH BEARS ARE STARTING TO LOOK GREAT FOR ME. ONE MORE YEAR. SOUGHT IT OR I'M DONE. AND THAT KILLS ME TO SAY.

Given the complexities of this mess I would be prepared to give V'Landys sufficient time to check the legalities before making a move. If he does nothing he's in strife, and if he does something and gets it wrong it goes even worse for him. The quicker the better for all parties involved though.
Keep hammering him with your feedback on this.

It seemed like a verybthorough article i think from The Australian by someone who seemed to know whatnhe was talking about...citing clubs sct clauses one of which appeared to state HBG needes NRL approval to dismiss independent board members.

I think thats what it inferred ...i asked the question and @Lestronge agreed with me...but we dont know if they got the reqd.apprival or not
That was it, yeah your spot on innk.

I'm resigned to the fact if Velandys was going to do something Richo would have been all over it. Richo knew it was a lost cause and walked.😭

I’m lost for words.

I know it’s already reported but I have it CONFIRMED that Richo is stepping down as CEO over this.

I don’t blame Richo for walking out, thank you for everything you’ve done for this club. You’ve given us a taste of success and stability during your short time giving us hope we’re capable.

I hope this is goodbye for now and not forever. If we can get HBG out under new management I’m sure he’ll be the first person called to finish the job he set out to do.

On the other side of things:

It’s become clear - this club will NEVER be successful until the HBG are out

The fact the NRL haven’t stepped in is equally as laughable, it’s clear they aren’t performance driven but more Wests driven.

I think this is the end for me, how can I give so much time/energy/money into a club run by people who continue to spit in us fans faces.

It’s all on you Benji… you’re our last hope.

#HBGOUT
Well said @teddy23

The problem is mate, do we want Benji to succeed now? We can't be in a position where, despite the idiocy from mgmt, Benji manages the unthinkable and gets us to new heights.

I don't know what I want more, success for Benji because I love the bloke (and the players who took a punt on us) or HBG to fail - unfortunately, my anger is so deep and long-dated, I have to say it's the latter. HBG can't be in a position, with any data point, to see that this was a good idea.

The only circut breaker now is if the club goes backwards at the rate of knots - since it doesn't look like PVL is stepping in.

There becomes a point where money is irrelevant. None of these guys need cash. It is about power and control, simple as that.
and what do they want to do with this power and control?

"Oh yay, we have full control of the team that is the worst run club in the NRL".

These guys on the Board are not idiots. They've all been successful in some way, shape or form, hence why they are in the position they're in.

I still cannot find the actual motive tbh.

The reasons you gave are of their supposed vested personal interest, not their interest in the club.
I'm trying to do what Ted Lasso said; be curious, not judgmental.

I can't jump to the only conclusion that they're some sort of maniacal, sadistic group of people with an interest only in power. Surely their decision making must be rooted in a shared mission to drive success.
Surely.
No?
The past unaltered is just the roadmap of the future. We're stuffed.

Tank the club in the hope in 2030 when the heritage clause in the license expires attempt to bring back the Magpies. 🤷‍♂️

2030 they can change the name.to wests magpies i believe
Isn't it clear that it's not happening.

As I said before, these guys aren't idiots. Even if let's say we go from Wests Tigers to Wests Magpies, they will lose a large chunk of funding that comes because of BRET wouldn't they?

Isn't it in their best self interests to make Wests Tigers as big and successful as possible? They are in a position where they can see that.

Even if you remove HBG and put in another XYZ company as owners, wouldn't they be in the same position?

You can't have 30+ inempt executives over 15 years on the Board. There is something in it for someone to gain that they keep whiteanting people. All this for an ego or power trip isn't worth it, I refuse to believe that's what it is.

I cannot find it, but money has to be a motivator.

They're out of their depth, pure and simple. They're not very intelligent or experienced people with a an unhealthy dose of Dunning Kruger syndrome.

They want to be the guys who make the decisions, and they have spent enough time together that they honestly believe they are the best people to do it. Don't think its any more complicated than that.

That's not happening. You still have Ipswich, South Brisbane and even NZ way above in the pecking order.

And they would sabotage a current NRL team just to hopefully get a new one in later? No way. These guys are too smart to do that.

Honestly, there has to be something else..
