At some point Richardson would retire & Meilekamp was brought into the building as a likely successor. Of the options available- I think he's the best one.Yes his results are very good, in a lower tier sport. You also can't compare his cv to richo's, they aren't in the same universe.
Im not saying skando and galea don't have anything to offer, but look what you are losing. Do you think they have the government and political connections that a former premier has, or the corporate governance experience of someone that has sat on the boards of swimming Australia?
How are you replacing those skills? Also don't forget the dismissed directors were appointed against a skills matrix, why aren't we looking for people that meet the highest possible standards?
I agree- guys like Skando & Galea do not offer the political or financial clout of some of the previous directors. That said, a certain amount of football gene pool for the club wouldn't be a bad thing. Does the club need some further reaching hands? Yes. But in an attempt to rectify a ruptured club structure, some Wests Tigers bloodlines on the board- not Balmain or Magpies- could be a bridge required.
