Magpies SG Ball outclassed by a very good Eels team.
Taupau-Moors is a towering figure, he looks bigger than last season and he tried hard without having much impact.
He needs to work on running onto the ball with more momentum or improving his explosive speed, but he’s an aggressive defender and looks quite fit for a young prop.
He has plenty of upside and will be an NRL player before too long providing he eliminates his half paced ball carries.
Phoenix Godinet also struggled to get into the game from an attacking point of view, but his defence was very strong and you could see glimpses of his quality.
Peter Taai tried hard and done nothing wrong.
Siotame Havea Jr had some good touches with his link play from 13, but he is still on the small side and struggled to impose himself on quality opposition.
Other than that the 2 young halves have obvious talent, but look like they need more time to develop physically.
Similar with Josh Vella who had some good involvements, but not yet as physically dominant as he was when playing Harold Matthews.
Other than that Lorima Cosgrove went well as always off the bench.
It’s hard to be too critical up against a red hot team that should win the SG Ball competition, but with the likelihood of Taupau-Moors and Godinet being promoted to higher levels, I think this Magpies SG Ball team will struggle and not much chance of playing finals this season.
