Thanks mate, good to know!
Here is the full team list now - https://www.weststigers.com.au/news/2026/03/11/wests-tigers--jersey-flegg-cup-round-2/

Bailey Smith & Sione Lolohea are both top-age Flegg recruits from the Rabbitohs.
Jeriko Talisau is also top-age from the Warriors who players hooker with utility value.

Our bottom-agers who have progressed from SG Ball last season are Logan Brookes, Xavier Tauaifaiga, Jack Nicholas, Archie Duncombe, Byronn Laupepa, Denzel S_M, Luani Luifua, Sonny E_M & Joseph Partch.

Lolohea must have impressed in the pre-season to keep Harry Delaney & Tuifua on the bench.

Last season Tuifua looked to be a good impact player coming off the bench with good size, aggression and power ball running.
He could be one capable of progressing and potentially taking over the role currently filled by Royce Hunt and Bunty Afoa in a couple of years time.

I'm also a fan. Really pleased he has appeared in the team list as we lack his style & profile throughout the grades.

Any idea where the halfback is from ?
I’ve never been overly impressed with Heith Pritchard, but the club seems to rate him and named to start the season at 6.
A lot will come down to the halves, what otherwise looks like a strong team looks very weak in the halves.
Pritchard has never looked anything other than average at best. Signing a reject from a poor Souths team (can't say I watched their matches to see his involvement directly to be fair to him) doesn't fill me with confidence.

Azzi and Isdale will no doubt be promoted in the very near future but this again shows the complete lack of recruitment and respect to keep positions on the field. We shouldn't be staying the season with such a poor roster. The dogs probably have 4 halfbacks who'd walk into our team.

It's a shame as the backs and pack look decent otherwise.

Our recruitment at all levels sucks. Only ever getting rejects that are unwanted elsewhere and we try to polish them up

Yep I have huge concerns over our recruitment. Would have to have the worst recruitment team in the comp right now

They are only playing the Fijian team today, but geez there some size, speed and power amongst our Jersey Flegg team.
Very professional performance under the coaching of Shane Sultana.

Yeah hard to get a good read against a team that will be towards the bottom of the competition. Everyone contributed tbh, I couldn't find a poor performer amongst them.

Logan Deininger had a great game, scoring 3 tries, good injections into the backline, good last line defence & kicked some ripping conversions from the sideline.

Others who stood out were Archie Duncombe, just a workhorse prop & so solid in contact in D. Luani Tuifua put on some big contact in defence to force errors and was hard to stop with his runs even scoring a try showing his strength. Jared Haywood was all class and put in a full 80 minute performance with great service & direction.

The twins Mitch & Max Taotua were all class on the right edge benefiting from the NRL pre-season experience. Will Craig had some good finishing efforts, strong in yardage but a few handling errors. Jack Nicholas was huge out of yardage but came up with two errors in contested bomb situations which resulted in Silktail tries, he's actually good in the air usually.

Pritchard, Leatigaga, & Sione Lolohea (2nd stint) were also impressive but really I'd have to name them all. Though Harry Delaney & Jerico Filipi-Talisau didn't get much time on the field.

Logan Deininger was a good player last year, but he looks to have really improved.
He does everything at top speed and has very good potential.
Will Craig doesn’t get much love on this forum, but he played very well today being very physical in attack and defence.
He looked to be doing well in our pre season videos also.
I’m not sure if he can step up and get to the level required to remain with us further than this season, but he seems to be ripping in and giving it 💯 which shows a great attitude.
Jared Haywood looks great which is no surprise and I agree with Archie Duncombe and Luani Tuifua, both look capable of having great seasons.

How is Haywood doing? Whose standing out?
Logan Deininger was man of the match by an extremely long way. 3 tries , some try assists, he's just an extremely pro active player. Always buzzing around the field wanting to take a run, part Brett Hodgson part Dylan Edwards. He just always wants to get his hands on the ball, and accelerates so quickly he just explodes through a half gap. The best fullback prospect at the club, he shows more than Attard from what I've seen so far.
I also looked the fact he took it upon himself to learn how to kick goals to add another string to his bow and make him a more valuable player and team mate. He kicked some from the sideline but did miss one from closer to the posts.

Given the scoreline you'd think the halves played well but anyone other than their family and friends wouldn't have noticed them out there. It was Deininger and Haywood who led the attack in every way.

The forwards were all pretty decent. Tuifua was very strong. In the backs, the centres rarely got any ball. Nicholas made 4-5 handling errors which is a concern.

A good performance against a weak, error prone side.

I wonder when Samson Tuqiri will geta run or what his development plan is (if we have one).
