Both can be true can't they? That coaching work with some players on a team can be more effective than with others.I think it’s more to do with the player, consdering Twal’s age , to be honest ..
Just like I wouldn’t say there had been a failure of the coaching staff with a guy like Pole who seems to he headed in the opposite direction over the past 12 months … got to have the drive and attitude to begin with

He’s getting through the line nicely.I've been a Twal critic but he has proved me wrong this year. Running hard and offloading which is great to see. Keep it up Alex.
Twally is a warrior , just keeps going no frills just runs hard and is great defender , every team need one like him ,
Next week I put Bunty on the bench and get rid of Seyfarth , Bunty and Royce will work well and in the trial Bunty defended very well so replacing seyfwrth no issue ,
Pole started last season on fire and along with May was one of our best.Well..I’ve explained why I think differently… do you blame the coaching for Pole going backwards ?
I think Benji has the Warriors game in mind for Bunty's first appearance, we'll need his size against their pack, it's full of monster silverbacks.Twally is a warrior , just keeps going no frills just runs hard and is great defender , every team need one like him ,

He hasnt been the same since his injury.
I was listening to matty Johns talk about those sorts of injuries and how sometimes it takes 12 months or so to start getting confidence back.
Yeah your timeline correlates with his injury. It isnt so much physical, but the psychological side. I thought he showed glimpses of improvement last night, but we still need him.His form has been dicey for over half of last season and looks no better now …
I think he really starting going backwards since he bombed a couple of tries in back to back games last season which from memory were both close losses ..although I might be wrong there and can’t be bothered to check those results
He doesn’t look physically hampered to me…but it’s possible …. I guess,,,
I think he has been pretty up front that he wants to go home to Melbourne eventually with his family and to perhaps play with his brother there… he signed an extension under Richo that he said was out of loyalty for the Tigers giving him a chance, which whilst admirable may not be the best reasons to stay here
Just my opinions of course … he was a fine player when at his best ..

Agree. I am suprised we didnt see this. Pole needs to play his way back into the side imo. Sione has been out performing him in recent times and the back end of last season.I would think they would be better off starting Sione next week and Pole on the bench
Most of there team are big or very bigI think Benji has the Warriors game in mind for Bunty's first appearance, we'll need his size against their pack, it's full of monster silverbacks.

From NRL physio:I’m curious now ..what was his injury?
From NRL physio:
Fonua Pole reportedly suffered an MCL injury in Round 10 & has since undergone surgery to address a meniscus injury he had been playing through (via Sydney Morning Herald).
Tigers expect him to miss 4-5 weeks at this stage.
Sounds as if there is 2 separate injuries - with the MCL sprain keeping him out for a few weeks at least they decided it was a good time to have surgery to remove the portion of damaged meniscus (described as a “flap”).
That surgery type on its own has a usual 4-6 week recovery range.
Two injuries though in Poles case, not just the one.So the same injury Luai has got now apparently ?
it’s a common sports injury and a lot move on quickly in my experience…
I actually suspect those two bombed tries I mentioned were a bit later in the season … this could have affected his confidence
