I posted about this at the end of last season...he seems to lack the core strength through his hips and torso to break try's. He seems to get tackled with the slightest contact. He actually finds the space between players, however very rarely makes it past contact.

It’s not a conspiracy … he’s negotiating now so Moses can get paid . Other clubs can’t legally look at him until we say we arnt picking up his option . I say 25 year old Bula isn’t missing out on much if the club picks up his 800k-900k option . The club isn’t missing much if it picks up the option . They would have a good idea if he intends to stay , either way they buy themselves time , as competing with Papua New Guinea will force some of the dumber clubs who are way more desperate like the dragons into giving Bula 1.1m . If Kennedy is worth 750k , and so is Brimson , then so is Bula . Brimson is the one I’d be looking at for 2 years , if Moses pulls his usual bullshit to get Bula out early.
It’s not as pretty as the others Buti firmly believe Attard has a long career ahead of him , an people have slept on / forgotten how good Brimson is as he’s fallen down the pecking order to Kini and being used in the halves/centre . Drinkwater … if we had to . But man his defence is a joke . I wouldn’t even look at him because of it .

I cld name 10 good or better fullbacks that wld do ok in any era..but Bula isnt one of them
Which is why we wont be paying him $900k or more next year
Maybe Gus can do something with him..Benji has had several years,and hes still just average

I don’t know about Bula man … I liked him a lot, but starting to reconsider that … and I’m not just talking about him deliberately playing poor to get out the club , before anyone brings up that conspiracy theory …it’s something that goes back a while now ..

I just not sure he is the right style of player for us, and I think the money rumoured to be offered is overs

Is Bula the Luke Brooks of Fullbacks?

I hate to say it but warming to the idea of picking up Xerri Playing Tino at fullback also getting Connor Tracy

Tracy played lower grades in the half's played on the wing at Cronulla in first grade and got converted into a fullback at Canterbury great all rounder

I watched Gutho yesterday-he never stops .The amount of work he gets through in attack is amazing. He is the one Bula should copy.

He had a great game I honestly think he has improved with growing the hair back looks younger and faster and went he runs it just flow's he doesn't look broken at all

I like the look of Logan Brookes

Haven’t seen much of him but what I have I liked. For someone who looks young and underdeveloped body he didn’t get dominated in tackles. Seemed to just approach with good body positioning when running at the line

It's a while back now but Bula should study the replays, great fullback, just wish he could of cleaned up Roberts in that fight lol.

Watched him closely too, was there in support with every half break, part of that is anticipating the game well

Almost always broke the first 2 tackles when running the ball back...kick chase was a bit more chaotic in those days.

If Bula was re-signing for $700k i think most on here would perhaps accept the performances he has put in over the last 12 months. We are a better team with him in it and maybe his ceiling is a $1.2m player, however the reality is that over the last 12 months any reasonable person would not value him any higher than $850k based on what he has shown and the mid point of his potential. That's still a shitload of coin for a young player and I doubt very much that any other club is legitimately taking more than $800k out of their salary cap to sign him.
