Mitchell Moses may not be the flavour of the year for Wests Tigers supporters but there is no denying that purely as a footballer he is top shelf, and is a major asset on the football field to his own team.
I used to think that about him. He's not.
Champion players don't need to sh1thouse with the ref like he does. Champion players just make the difference with their footy. Same with the Storm and Cameron Smith. They were either cheating outright or too actively manipulative against what the game is about to be considered champions.
(I exclude Cooper Cronk from this somewhat because he won after leaving the Storm and didn't need a BJJ crew and 15 minute zoom meetings with the ref to challenge decisions when he won comps with the Roosters)
There is an intangible thing with great players that Moses just does not have, and that goes beyond just what he does on the pitch. I feel Moses is now far too busy looking for moments for him to weasel the ref, that he doesn't actually see the big moments for his team.
