Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Mitchell Moses may not be the flavour of the year for Wests Tigers supporters but there is no denying that purely as a footballer he is top shelf, and is a major asset on the football field to his own team.

I used to think that about him. He's not.

Champion players don't need to sh1thouse with the ref like he does. Champion players just make the difference with their footy. Same with the Storm and Cameron Smith. They were either cheating outright or too actively manipulative against what the game is about to be considered champions.

(I exclude Cooper Cronk from this somewhat because he won after leaving the Storm and didn't need a BJJ crew and 15 minute zoom meetings with the ref to challenge decisions when he won comps with the Roosters)

There is an intangible thing with great players that Moses just does not have, and that goes beyond just what he does on the pitch. I feel Moses is now far too busy looking for moments for him to weasel the ref, that he doesn't actually see the big moments for his team.

Flanno is a fraud ! He makes up shit saying there’s nothing in the lower grades yet last season and this season their nsw cup team has been top 4 . The real reason is he can’t coach so relies on very experienced players to play his limited game plans , and if he plays young kids, the won’t stick to his bullshit gameplans , and will expose him .
He is already exposed…lost 10 straight…..it’s so obvious Flanno is all about just trying to save his $500k paypacket….the alternative is being a carbologist for Kogarah council..

He wouldnt have lasted long here with all the Wests Balmain BS.
We were in a.pokey little.iffice in underwood rd homebush back then and had a tackling bag attached to a cable at concord like a zipline...sponsored byba shonky money lender that ripped off t h e players

Grim times

I remember the Terry Lamb zipline!

Raddison Maine! The Wolves of Queen Street. When I watched the Wolf of Wall Street and they called their business "Stratton Oakmont" -- I was like - jeez. they could Sponsor Wests. They fleeced 500k from Jeff Fenech too.

I'm not sure we were at Concord under Terry Lamb tho. I think we kicked off there in 2003 under Sheens. We were training at LO and Ctown until then. It's my recollection that Sheens and Royce pushed for the move to Concord but to make it happen they found all the gym gear 2nd hand and. repainted all space and offices themselves. Not sure Belly would have done that!

It was 2003 and Sheenuis did push for LO and found the equipment Bellamy would not have worked out at the Tigers

Bellamy had so much more to work with in Melbourne a 1 city club with lots of money and a different mindset to Sheen's and Royce

Sheenuis was perfect for the club a desperate coach willing to work with what he could scrap together and Royce did more the just Witches Hats they had trust and a great friendship

And Sheenuis had a harder time with the board then any another coach

Sheens was political too tho. He pushed out a club CEO with an ultimatum because he didn't want to operate under KPIs and hated any kind of transparency and accountability of results of the football department... after 4 really, really, annoying years post 2005 with him tinkering around with trick plays and putting player imaginable into our back row, except back rowers.

In came Stephen Humphries afterwards and the heavily back-ended contracts that were the first dominos in what unbalanced our salary cap for the next 8 years.

I honestly can't see any more signings that we need to make, given the juniors coming through and some of the surprise packets like Herbert and Madden.

We've got a strong 17 and some quality depth, which is only going to get better with the growth of the juniors. Toa is the only one I think we could upgrade on with the way the injuries keep hitting him.

I think it's now more about replacing anyone who decides to depart.

His best days are done and his attempts at manipulating the ref will become more frequent as he realises this I reckon.

Or get Pole's little brother to come to us from the Storm .. ??

We could try but I believe the next contract Fonua signs will be with the storm

An old article on his last deal with the tiger's had hints in it that he would've possibly signed with the storm rather than us had they had enough room in their cap to accommodate him

Pole out and the kid from dragons in, if pole wants to leave and play in Melbourne I’m ok with that his brother is there and we have brothers at our club who want the same , to pay with each other , Pole is good but not a world beater , May , Hunt , Bunty , Sam f , KPP , Twally we have size and quality in the pack , add dragon kid be fine

Tedesco's doing fine as is Tommy turbo who is 30 next year.

Id take him on a 2 or 3 year deal and then if attard is all he is cracked up to be he can take the spot.

Either way, we need a seasoned QUALITY fullback. No team is winning a premiership with someone like tracey
Hi mtd#2
IMO a bit hard on Tracey there,
Edward’s at Penrith has never been as dynamic as Teddy,Tommy or Walsh but his work rate is invaluable to their team.
Not saying Tracey is as good as Edward’s but is playing a similar style.

First thing he needs to do is drop his son. He's done nothing and does not attack the line at all.

Sorry I disagree, pole has been going great so far , and it’s about time we steal his brother from the storm , if he is any good .
But this kid from the dragons , is only a kid , how many of them have we thought would be great 1st grade players , only to see them fail , pole is a proven 1st grade , stick with the proven one , me thinks

Word is Pole wants to stay .

I don't really get your point.

Cameron Smith is the second best player to ever play the game.
