I think we just need to go back to Madden and Doueihi in the halves. Even though Madden has been wearing the 6 and Doueihi the 7 Madden has pretty much been our halfback. Nothing wrong with Herbet at centre, I honestly don't know what to do with Luai because I think Doueihi would just compliment Madden better at 6. He has a better running game from 6 than Luai and you're going to put him out at centre and it's just not the same at all. All of his line breaks that then lead to try assists have been from a position of ball playing, not one position inside the wing. Even when combining with Madden when spreading to the edges their chemistry has looked second nature. If anything I see Doueihi as more of a ball playing lock off the bench than going to centre, but then what do you do with Latu? It's all just a headache which is kind of a good thing but only if you make the right choices which Benji didn't do with this lineup tonight.

I was at the game and esra mam's ability to take the line on and hit the right runner is second to none.

I agree he has been the biggest factor in turning the club around. But I feel some of those standards are now embedded. He’s also had many opportunities to remove the options from his contract.

It was the inability to set up the outside backs, look what Mann was doing, very dangerous.

Luai didnt have any of that tonight and often doesnt.

Not many. Count them on 1 hand. Bordering on one pf our worst buys considering the cost.

It was our defence that let us down tonight.

It was our attack. Our 6 did nothing and our 7 tried hard but panicked and kept throwing harbour bridge cutouts to marked wingers.
We tackled at >91%. Our defence was mostly solid. 25 missed tackles with only 5 ineffective is about as good as we get.
We beat them in every category but the score line. Can’t seal the deal when an opposition fights back.

Exactly. I know Luai is on a lot of money and it feels like a waste having him on the extended bench getting no game time or playing in reserve grade, but just do what's best for the team, what will get us the results. He told Benji he's okay to play reserve grade because he knows Madden is a gun player and he should be ahead of him. I reckon just have Luai on the 6 man bench as an emergency backup, he doesn't even need to play at all, and if he's unhappy he can activate his get out clause and Jocky boy can get his pay packet or close to it. He deserves it, the only thing is does that have a ripple effect on other players like Turuva and Taylan May? Team first though?

I’m not emotional at all. He’ll be able to get more opportunity and more money by leaving our club when his contract is up. If I was him that’s what I’d do. He’s our fourth half at present. As a fan I hope he stays.

A good assessment of what we saw tonight; compared to the last few weeks.
Madden 7 and Doueihi 6 work well together.
Luai and Doueihi are not our best combo. The attack in the red zone was CLUNKY AGAIN! Like usual when they are our halves together.
Terral May needs to stay out of the centres when in the red zone; and not stop before the collision when tacking the ball up. Try and bust through a tackle----not carry them with you and slow the play down.
Maka @ 18 yrs needs to recoup in reggies for a spell.
If Benji had headaches last week picking the side it will be even worse next week.
Interesting what he decides on----------winning against Canberra is the aim, tough decisions
