OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

Even me a Luai fan can see we paid overs and rightfully so to help Benji a rookie coach and attract players and raise standards. Getting out of a 1.2m a year contract for a then 31 years early old five eighth is good business. The club has to manage this well and strengthen other positions and retain their other players. Its a test no doubt Bula is more important tbh.

Luai has 2 or 3 very young children i think??
Id be surprised if he took them if he did go...thatd mean his missus stays too youd think
I may well be way off

Yeah let's cut off our nose to spite our face, split the playing group, lose our greatest asset of team unity and do another rebuild.
That makes perfect sense to me.
What and him turning his back on the club and signing for PNG isn’t going to have a large impact on the playing group and the club .
U are right as well but u only lucked at one side of the story

Well this is a kick in the guts for us tigers fans , he has been saying all the right things about how close the group is and he loves the club , but here he goes , I got to see how much more money I can make and stuff my team mates , NOW I know money rules , but he will not retire with nothing , he will have millions but away and then there is a TV job , so how much do these players want , but more important, he came here on big money to make this club a strong force , and we are going in the right direction, and he wants to jump ship . If he comes out and says Iam going , SHOW him the door ASAP
This really pisses me off
Mate that’s ridiculous and self absorbed . The guy will be 32 in 2028 , he has max 4 years if his body holds out after that . He’s from the Druitt ffs . He should be encouraged to earn as much as he can and set himself up . He hasn’t lied , hasn’t caused the team to fall apart , hasn’t sent emails saying the coach is shit . He’s just got on a plane to have a look .
he was brought here to change the culture . To that alone he has been a huge success . Now that should lead to results and hopefully if the right systems are in place the culture should endure through generation change and squad evolution.

Honestly when I read this stuff , I genuinely think some of the fans only sees number on the back and not the human .

Totally agree, this is going to happen a heap more with PNG and Perth, more marquee players will be going to check it out. Luai probably just doing Chammas a solid by looking like he is interested to attract other players but I would be surprised if he went, he seems like he loves to win and going from a future contender to a battler to end his career seems like a too hard basket option.
I hope ur right , I think u might have hit the nail on the head

Whilst i too am not overly concerned with Luai getting paid a bag of money elsewhere in 2028, you could look at this the other way. He has to make a call in the next few days about staying on at the Tigers, the only real alternative where he could get extra $$ that would be attractive enough to make the move is PNG. The guy has to do his due dilligence. I could be wrong, however i recall reading that his option this year is for the remainder of his contract.
Yeah.
How.many thousands of times have i read on here that the only place hed get the same $1.2m is at png.
Youd be crazy not to explore your options with the deadline looming.

Some.tho are.freeking out and talking disrespect blah blah....imagine if we were not 3 wins from our last 4 and were 1/3....meltdowns galore.
This was probably planned when we first saw the draw

I’m not concerned …for now….. even if he announces this week he is signing for PNG 2028

Would be nice if they have a good news recruitment announcement in the next couple of weeks … doesn’t necessarily need to be Bula

😂😂😂😂

Timeline:
- Jarome was ready to remove the clauses
- HBG sack the board
- Jarome meets with HBG
- Benji announcing that Jarome wouldnt be removing the clauses
- Jarome ends up in PNG a few months later exploring moving to another club

If they didnt blow the place up, Luai and Bula would be signed and sealed until the end of 2029.

I know you lot are incapable of acknowledging they could do any wrong. Its your fatal flaw.
I love how you come up with your very own assumptions, and somehow somewhere along the line it becomes verified fact.
I could only imagine the squirming you've had to do over the last few weeks, to not bag HBG while we are travelling along swimmingly.
Most can see that our owners are not perfect. I never said they were.
Actually, I often wonder how on earth they came to be in control.
I mean, as inept as so many of you say they are . . . how the hell did anyone vote for them to be our owners ?

Your post is somewhat lopsided, he would have heaps of money to retire and I bet he gets a gig on TV , if he leaves this club will fall back to what it was , our club has seen player after player walk out with little effort to stop them , that’s what I am trying to get at , I have been a tiger supporter for over 50 years so don’t say I only look at numbers on there back . I have never failed to support my team throw thick and thin

If this was the club’s plan all along why haven’t the Fainu’s and May’s been extended yet? It gives the club no bargaining power now.
Why haven't the Fainu's and May's extended yet ?
Hmm . . . I could come up with some cock-eyed notion, and then consider that to be cold hard fact, like many here do . . . . but I'll just run with this possibility: maybe, just maybe HBG has got absolutely nothing to do with this.
Let's run with this wild idea .... What if they said they're not ready to extend yet ? What the F could you, Benji, SM, HBG, your next door neighbour, me, or anybody else do about that ?

Lmao I never said HBG had anything to do with it. If Benji & SM aren’t unable to retain Luai, Bula, Sam & Latu or the May’s maybe they could look as to why.

Wow,This is a piss poor effort from Jerome...OUR CAPTAIN !!!! It's by no means a done deal but terrible look ...AND before peoples heads start spinning off there shoulders . I reckon if he wants out and it can be done,he should be let go at the end of the season, leave more cash for those who want to be there ... don't get me wrong I what him to stay, but if this was a less profile player ... EVERYONE would say let him go good luck in PNG. Benji clearly said if you don't want to be here there's the door...
As long a nobody else follows 🤪

Yep young family , good wage at Tigers , making money on the side with his mate from Penrith Brian T sure they got a business, friends and extended family , be a big call to go for him , single young guy much easier to do , he may just took a look but I think he stays.

Your post called me out for making assumptions, then in your next sentence made your own assumptions 😂😂

If it was as simple as voting them out, they'd be gone tomorrow. The debenture system is designed so they never lose control. People were calling out the issue with this in the 80s.

Back on point, you are choosing to ignore the down stream impact of the poor management decisions of 2025.

Keep biting though, I enjoy getting under your skin 😘😘.

In fairness, if he signed on again it kills off Latu and perhaps Jocks path so, i think it clears that up for us.
