I think you can get a direct flight from Townsville to Port Moresby only a few hours easy let the family live in Townsville on the water
You ever lived that life bro? It’s punishing. The flights 2 hrs but it’s really6 hr sod your life gone … every single weekend . And what happens during the seasons where every second game is a home game . He doesn’t see his family . What if it’s 2 home games then a game in Sydney then another in nz . He doesn’t see his family for weeks on end . That’s not sustainable mate .

Hal .. they will be getting paid the same as now ..but the fact they pay no tax essentially doubles it ( almost ..)
Yes Tom and this from a SMH article.
"PNG could potentially offer a marquee player $1.5 million per season. If he could earn an additional $400,000 in PNG sponsorships, it would be equivalent to a $3.5 million annual salary in Australia once tax benefits are factored in."
TPAs are not only tax free but not included in the cap. Players who are highly motivated by escaping Australia's cost of living crisis will find it hard to say NO.

But is it tax free if you reside in Australia?
Thought Albo gave it his tax free blessing??After speaking to PVL of course and obtaining his permission
If not,the ATO classifies yr primary tax obligation to where u are "domiciled."..which means to avoid youve gotta spend 6 months + outside of Australia.
If he indeed goes ,when u take :away: games into account, thats about 8 months in the year for him to reside in PNG!!
Maybe more
Despite that ,for around $4mill cash...for 2 years ,,ladies and gentlemen,,we probably have a deal!
It wld work for everybody tbh

When the PM of the country greets you on arrival its already done.

Very surprised.

Responsible and measured comments put forward by Danny the Weasel but I don't think they were the responses that the pommy, ear chewing, Wests Tigers hating git James Graham was hoping to hear.

Was expecting to hear nothing but gloom and doom from the Weasel which is exactly what our mate James Graham was hoping for.

Better luck next time Jimmy. 🤣

As a Sydney boy I never got used to the extreme humidity , the monsoon rains for20 mins then extreme humidity then another monsoon then extreme humidity then a sunny day followed by hot as nights . I hated every second of it . It simply wasn’t for me .
I didnt mind it once the monsoons started and would bring some cool air with the storms. During the buildup the scorching heat and humidity took some resilience. I didnt mind the days when I was busy, I worked through it but when the nighttime temps dont drop and you lose sleep, night after night. Thats when you start going troppo.

Plus, the Cockroaches big enough to carry your backpack over the Kokoda Track.

If that was the clubs opinion the KOE and jersey flegg fullbacks would be swapped . They’re the same age .
Perhaps, but brookes is urgently in a team that is a chance to win the Como playing with several players earmarked for a big future with the club… perhaps they are working on developing them all together .. I’d be interested in if they are going to extend his contract any time soon.. they obviously rate him as he was bought up for the first trial
