There are going to be so many players in the mix here for PNG, but even Koroisau is a chance, given he will be 35 and I doubt we're looking to re-sign him. Could take a smaller deal tax free to walk into the sunset at the end of his career. I guess my point is this was always going to happen. There will be players lining for the incentives and all clubs with players ending their contract in 2028 will be linked

$600M is a ridiculous sum to start an NRL franchise. Not paying income tax in a foreign jurisdiction when still a resident is not easy. Will be interesting to see if it’s really as tax free as being made out or whether the govt will allow it as part of their handout.

I don’t think that played a part whatsoever.
He came here for good money as a place holder for this potential or maybe an English payday.
This has worked out perfectly for him.

Great post, exactly how it should’ve gone down, imo. Jarome even offered to come off the bench, by all accounts, but Benji wouldn’t hear of it. Probably something to do with his big price tag! If Luai himself could see how much better Madden steered the team at half, then I think Benji needs to listen.

It's not Luai's big price tag.

It's his leadership. We have been here before with Farah and others.
We definately need Madden at Batman/Halfback. Unsure if you put Luai at 5/8 and Doueihi at Center or put Luai at lock/halfback with Madden/AD at halfback/5-8.

^and I realise none of these positions are ideal. You can't have Luai on the bench as club captain and off field leader. I am just trying to think how you get Madden/AD/Luai into two positions.

What were doing at the moment is working. Luai has been missing from that, yet Luai is a class player and has plenty of Grand final experience. It's not an unearned big price tag.

So it's just Tigers players who may go to PNG ? Read is Moses mouthpiece and would do anything to destabilise the club
