Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

He has no incentive to risk further consequences of headknocks when he is signed with the Bears, he is probably just delaying as much as possible. wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't play this season
What rubbish
No incentive?
How about furthering and developing your game...trying to improve tegardless of a new club next year.
Hes contracted here till seasons end if hes deemed fit to play he plays whatever grade hes selected in

Has Fonua cut into the resigning line ahead of the Fainus? 😆

Not that there's anything in the article really about him resigning.
I rewatched that Storm game and I was unimpressed with Pole's defense, Harry exposed him a number of times when he was dawdling behind the ruck or taking his time getting back into the defensive line. I kept a close eye on him as i was keen to see if he would step up as May was out and he was very ordinary. There were a few breaks where if he got on his bike he could have shut them down. I know he is not Haas, however if he had half the urgency and effort of Payne it would make a world of difference.

Everyone talks about To'a missing games he played the second most games from the backs last year 19 But Bula missing more
Yes Bula missing more.

Last year To'a finally found some form. Sadly he lost it during the break

Overall most fullbacks are rather breakable. Paps is retiring at 26? Turbo/Ponga are regularly broken.

Really only Tedesco and Edwards regularly seem to be at most games.

Do we need to accept a fullback means 60% attendance?

Pole's defence has always been horrible. He is young for a front rower but has been given a free ride into the NRL IMO. Once all hands are on deck i wpuld give hom a wake up call in reserve grade. He has too much talent to just drift along like he has been doing. The odd good hit up and footwork just doesn't cut it for me

His defence has been shit his whole career. I kept thinking he would improve and develop into a better than average first grader but it just hasn't happened. I'm absolutely fine if he doesn't re-sign.

What I like most about Bula is other players like playing with him

Pole isn't the guy i'd be prioritizing atm its Sam and Latu to a lesser extent, its actually wild to think back all the talk at the time was Latu and samuela was a bonus. My god he's the golden egg of bonus's get them locked down and then worry about Pole. For me i know he's young but Pole is a frustrating player he's D is very suspect as mentioned above and he seems to be more rocks than diamonds but the team seems to love him. I think we can get similar if we wanted but it might be a team harmony thing i still wouldn't push out the boat for him.

he needs the wake up call. Played well early last year, really well. Running off the back fence. Was very ordinary late last season, very ordinary. Didnt think he was even first grade standard with his lazy defence.

Started this season average, then a few good games, then last week, back to his slack lazy defence.

He's not showing any leadership qualities like you want from your front rowers, at this point. Wouldnt be sad to see him go, doesnt currently warrant more then 400k a season. Its up to him to prove that wrong

Think people have forgotten how good he is....

Fresh on the scene.
He was talk of the game.
Then he got injured and was forgotten real quick.

He's a good player.
Perth landed a good one.

I don't mind their spine.

Meany is solid.
Wishart is crafty.
Sexton, well, he looked capable at the dogs till they torpedoed their season.
Games got a short memory,
Doesn’t take much…
This time last year, Metcalf was an immortal - this year he was signed over by a career reserve grader.

This time Last year wonderboy was the face of the game, this year - Belmore want him lynched.

Telegraph saying that the Tigers are all but locked in as one of the Vegas teams next year ( apparently it’s an away game as well 😳)

Anyone planning to go over for it ? The novelty is gunna wear off soon … maybe the NRL can squeeze 1 more year out of it?
Thumbs down to the, l a (capital LA} experiment

Wests Tigers multimillion-dollar re-signing spree has continued with the game’s brightest prospect Heamasi Makasini inking a new deal to remain at the club.

It is understood Makasini has re-signed with the club for a further two years rejecting any prospect of returning to rugby union in the short-term.

The multimillion-dollar extension means Makasini will join the likes of high profile players Terrell and Taylan May, Sunia Turuva and Jahream Bula to recommit to the club long-term following the loss of Jarome Luai to PNG.

Makasini was due to hit the open market on November 1 but has now decided his future. The 18-year-old made his NRL debut last year playing in the final match of the regular season while still at school.

He played in the opening six games this year but has been sidelined since round seven after suffering a stress fracture in his foot.

Makasini will miss about two more weeks before he can return to the field and will be a key component in the Tigers’ finals push.

A strong finish to the season will see the outside back in the box-seat to claim the rookie of the year award.

Makasini burst onto the scene during the trials when he was compared to rugby legend Jonah Lomu after a barnstorming try in a pre-season fixture against Penrith where he ran over a handful of players including super star Dylan Edwards.

The Tigers have done well to ensure he was not tempted by a return to rugby with the Newington College graduate confirming he has an interest in the 15-man code. But not just yet. The Tigers have now locked in most of their key talent which was due to be free to speak to rival clubs in 2028.

The Tigers will turn their attention to securing teammates Samuela Fainu and Latu Fainu who are the only high profile players now without deals beyond next season.
Bless the Fainu boys , top priority that waited last ,hope their happy to stay

Wonder if there's any truth to the claim Metcalf refused to play cup.

Seems very diva like.
