OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

From today telegraph-

Canterbury head of football Phil Gould has conceded that Lachlan Galvin is unlikely to be the club’s long-term answer at halfback.
Gould, speaking on The Bye Round podcast, addressed the decision to bring Galvin to the club and insisted his arrival last year had nothing to do with the departures of Toby Sexton and Reed Mahoney at the end of the year.

However, he did confirm that Galvin had been thrust into the halfback role out of necessity and was unlikely to remain there in the long term.

And longer term, he’s probably not a seven, but he’s getting great experience at the moment. He’s learning the game really well. It’s wonderful for him.”

Gould also discussed the future of five-eighth Matt Burton, again conceding his future may not lay in the halves.

I can't wait toll they put the kid in the back row... Just to demolish what bit of Ego he has left.
Then the Eels buy him, Rinsed - Try to re-invent him as a 6

Hasnt the commentary around the kid jus turned into a circus. Overhyped, overpayed and a brat
Dumbest thing he did was creating the whole turmoil around his exit from the club and trying to blame it all on Benji who is a well loved and respected member of the NRL community. Picking the Dogs (after all the Ghould praise) over Parra. Then going and doing the Weidler interview like he is some 4 time premiership winner going from the 1st place team to the last placed team. If you wanted to write a guide on what not to do when you change teams than there is the script. I respect the short career that Galvin has had so far in terms of on field exploits, its not a small thing jumping straight from schoolboy football to 1st grade NRL and he does not look out of place in a first grade team. He is not a 7 and he should probably be still developing his game at 6 in KOE away from the glare and pressure, however you make your bed and you have to sleep in it. I always tell my teams that pay rises are great, however they do also make the target on your back bigger and increase the expectation and pressure to perform....none more so than in professional sport.

Same philosophy though. Say whatever is convenient in the moment, even if you’ll say something to the contrary 5 mins later.
They certainly are very comparative, I’ve often thought Gus was just the Aussie sports version of DT. Must be a red headed thing lol. Apologies to any red heads on the forum!

If you think there’s hype on Galvin,
What about the halfback in waiting (Woods) that hasn’t even played a game of NRL to my knowledge,
Media saying the dogs need to upgrade his contract before Nov 1 otherwise some other team might come and offer him big bickies.
Please surely no club could be that stupid.

As a club we have problems but i am just so pleased this bloke is not one of them anymore,a petulant bloke with an inflated opinion of his own ability and he ignores the fact he is a liability in so many ways.
Only he can fix his attitude but it is unlikely while he continues to take the advice of his retinue of admirers.
The arrogance of telling his manager he wanted to be with a better coach is mind blowing.

The repercussions of the decision - hilarious!

I saw a reel on instagram and it posed the question:

Would you take the tigers winning the 2026 grand final, if it meant the bulldogs would win the next 3 and galvin wins the Clive Churchill?

Gus and Ciraldo at odds over Galvin - Gus - he is not a half. Ciraldo he is our best and "will be half for as long as he wants to be and he is tracking right now pretty good"
If history repeats no one survives at odds with Gus
