Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I wouldn't be letting go of Seyfarth.
He seems a good value contract.

Toa should be first to get the tap.
Royce, I don't mind him but if it meant keeping Samuela, it's a no brainer.

Doesn't seem we have any other big dollar players to ask to leave to make the space.

Need some crafty accounting.
Good post. All teams need depth and team players. He provides both and that never say die attitude to influence our younger players is important. With Luai, we see the impact that his professionalism and team spirit has had on the squad. It is a very underrated attribute which I'm sure Marshall values.

Of the potential 3 players noted Seyfarth would be the last one, only if necessary. Toa and Hunt before him, and to be honest Toa first.

Moving on from Toa is a no brainer,… his extension is right up there with the worst decisions the club has made … gunna be difficult though getting him to move on ..who else is going to want him ?

Wonder if Seyfarth might be interested in PNG in 2028..? Or Perth ?

Hunt was going ok three games ago … but I’d be ok if he moves on for 2027… don’t think there will be a lot left in the tank … maybe he should go to the Super League ..
Players such as Seyfarth could potentially be in for a big pay day from the expansion teams. Our management will have tough decisions to make.

Connor Watson (just for 2027) & Jesse Arthars would be ideal imo.

To'a is mates with Mapapalangi so hopefully is envious of his form in the ESL & trips through Europe. ESL is probably the most realistic option. Fair chance we'd have to contribute close to 40-50% of To'a's salary though for a couple of seasons.
Weve got one guy already joining the Chiefs who has taken his foot off the accelerator...dont need another

Arthars been tabled a 2 year deal by titans along with Japanese rugby clubs

I hope we also come in for him. Imagine a backline ...
1 Bula 2 Turuva 3 May 4 Makasini 5 Arthars
He would bring speed, experience, finishing, good defence and utility value to cover fullback & centre for injuries. He may want more than what we can offer. Good mates with Jock Madden too.

One question , is our reserve grade coach part time only , I’ve heard it but don’t believe it , this would be a disgrace , these guys should be coached every day just like first grade , other thing I ask is who the hell is he and what’s his back ground and coaching background , I’ve not heard of him

He coached in Warringtons Academy system and was in Souths pathways system when Richardson signed him - no idea why?

Toa contracted for 27 and 28
He might do a Packer and just get paid to play reserve grade.
if his value is lets say 450k, no club would seriously offer anymore than 250k for him, so tigers are tipping in 200k
Worth paying the cash to get the contract out of concord

I don’t even know if he is worth $250k to anyone … I suspect it’s a bit of a pipe dream that he is moving on ..should try and get him medically retired ,,.but you cant do that when you are picking him to play every week !

Of interest is how much if at all the current contract extensions rise with the cap increase to $16 million after the next rights deal.

We may (or may not) have plenty to play with at that point. At this stage just we need to hold onto a nucleus of players and have a clear replacement for Api.

I think Doueihi and Latu/Jock will end up being our halves and I expect the Luai money will be spent elsewhere. There is 2 million in Luai and Api contracts alone.

Seyfarth is on 500k next season, he and To'a should be let go of regardless. He was re-signed last season when he was a starting backrower.

He's shown he can't offer anything other than 15mins in the middle... Plenty of other players that can offer that for much less.
Careful man, you'll upset the baby giraffe lovers, he's only good for 15 minutes at the back end of games, lately Royce has made equal or more minutes than that.

If the new teams offer him a better deal, take the money and run Leroy, sure, he offers a lot at training but so do many others how many do you need to drive standards.

We all want a stronger roster well churning it over is how you do it with better replacements being the goal.
