OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

Dunno how anyone can watch Luai the past 2 years and think he's anywhere near worth a mil.

He's just not that good lol. He's at best, an above average 5/8th. As a player he's not worth anymore than 600-700k.

After his stint with us I wouldn't take him but a desperate club like parra or a club that has a good spine will snap him up.
Haha...it was only 2 or 300 last night

What a joke
And it will be a different figure tomorrow and every day after .... The media just want the clicks and the tigers always provide them ......

I don't even understand how that is legal..... To receive money from TPA's for you next contract whilst still playing for your current contract..... Seems extremely suss.... So much for an even playing field ........
TPA should have to do nothing with your contract or in reality be setup by your club

If anything it means he had actual legit TPAs as begins before contract

Don’t forget ..a desperate club is trying to unload him …

I hope they get the full amount back ,.. but if it’s only $600k it won’t surprise me ..

We won’t have to worry about not knowing the amount I think ,,it will be reported widely in due course ,,

The figures reported will vary and be wildly inaccurate like they always are, but they will do the job and get the clicks. The tigers always do.....

I've got no problem with Luai leaving except...
He was the central figure about getting on the bus when Galvin broke his contract
All the times he said he was going nowhere and was committed
He has completely derailed this season 5-2 before PNG announcement 2-8 since

Helped attract some good players here and probably did some good work on the training paddock and with culture. But good riddance. There are consequences for actions and karma has bitten him.

Will be a disaster in PNG with this clown as the marquee
Gee that’s some selective evidence to support your argument.

Galvin was agitating to join a front runner and pulling every dodgy play in the book to get his way. Jarome was contractually within his rights to do what he did.

Perhaps injuries to our best players could have had an impact after the PNG decision was announced too.

Anyways, if he’s a clown, show me where to join the circus.

Yeah No way, unless your desperate, and Yeah a club with a polished spine snap him up , make him look better then he is and then everyone on here blame Benji for being a shit coach and not getting the best out of him etc etc . I've seen this movie before.

He was worth the money, if not for the culture change he brought, but for what it said about WT. From a fan perspective, we started to believe we were heading in the right direction; we landed a marquee player and after him came other good signings. From a league perspective we gained stature and signalled intent.
That is what us fans had been crying out for.

And let’s remember, at the time we signed him he was a world class 5/8. There was little doubt about that.

Two years in we can say he had a phenomenal impact on culture and stature, but perhaps that sheen has now worn off.

Moreover, there have only been a small handful of games where he has truly shone, or steered the team effectively or really owned the game. That has been a major disappointment.

As such, being that he has already fulifllled an important role in effecting culture and stature - one which he perhaps can do little more for - I am all for him relieving us of his huge salary.

I don’t think any decision made around Luai was wrong. I applaud every one.

Well done Benji and management. Now it’s time to move forward.
