The coaches are not working.

Unfortunately we have brought in a bunch of club legends and now have to get them off side as they are not up to it. The defence and attack are horrible. Both need to go unfortunately. Flanagan or Gardiner are the best available. Make them assistant and if Benji falls over (very likely) in the next 6 months then we have an able replacement.

I am sure we have, but I can't remember a 3 month period where we have played worse since our inception. Pretty much 5 losses of 50 (or close to), and then two thirty point hammerings in there as well. Have barely looked like being in a game.

We were more competative with Jason Taylor and Terry Lamb and their rosters were way worse.

Brad Arthur would be the best option, he dragged parramatta from last with salary cap issues to a GF.
He has an idea how to build a club up.

The last 2 coaches we had have won the last 5 comps and couldnt do anything with us. Its going to need much more than a change of coach to sort this mess out.

That is correct, just simply changing the coach will not fix the problem of our sub standard playing roster.
A major player overhaul is required and at the top of the list needs to be some of the imposters we have only recently re-signed.

LOl. No starts with new competent ownership. This begun when HBG grenaded our independant boardroom to retake control. Weve already overhauled rosters, coaches and executives and nothings changed. Time to overhaul the one thing thats never been touched.

Richo is the most successful CEO in the game

The Cowboys select a team that he is bigger, stronger, faster, more athletic and more physical than the teams Wests Tigers Troy out each week.
Regardless of effort coming into the equation, our playing roster is simply not good enough for Benji or any other coach.
My major problem with Benji is he is the one that has put this playing roster together and continues to overpay some very average players.
No talent ID whatsoever.

If we’d played like we are now all season, I would agree with you, but I think we saw in the first 7 weeks of the comp that this team is capable of much better. They are just dogging it, there’s no other way of seeing it, imo.

Both of them did better than Benji has done and they did it with less talented rosters.
Coaching is certainly a large piece of the problem, as is the majority PI roster that has been built.

I’m not criticising Benji with that post, I’m trying to point out that the players have not responded, the culture hasn’t changed and the shit talk around this club (Benji’s words) has not changed one iota, in fact it has gotten worse. That’s why it’s gotten old.

Regardless of whether you change owners the playing roster in particular and most likely the coach who selected them needs to be changed, they are simply not good enough.

Most of them are young guys who need time and stability at the club.

Who is going to stump up the pay out of Marshall’s contract in this scenario? And who is going to take the fall for having extended it so shortly before it is cancelled? Seems unlikely it would be less than $2-$3 million. Can’t see it myself.

Since he has left - we have no leadership - total reliance on benji - and extended all players for overs bc Jarome left and they panicked

It’s been a complete a dung pile since he left

I don’t think there is just one issue to contend with and I don’t know what’s the most damaging, but trying to emulate 05 by exclusively hiring them into coaching and management roles into the club doesn’t seem to be a great strategy.

But unlikely to ever happen

The NRL just needs to move in and piss them off for the good of the game

They are a dark cloud hanging over the entire club and until they are gone the negative headlines will keep showing up every couple of weeks
