Adam Doueihi #227

Two weeks ago, sure, but he lost me a week and a half ago and I think that he has to go. I can put up with him playing a role for the few remaining games, though that's about it.
We’re cooked either way, but if he goes, we have nothing for 27. Yeah, I get what he did. And I guess in a vacuum, him leaving would be fine. We have nothing though. Our spine already looks terrible, and it will be even worse if he goes. I’m not trying to defend the guy, and cheering him on today felt as awkward as hell. When he scored, it was like watching your mother in law drive off a cliff in your new car. But if we run with Andrews/Latu in 27, the Bears don’t stand a chance for the spoon with us around.

Turuva would have needed to be 2 feet taller to be any chance of catching the ball,it was a terrible pass.

The later pass was better, though still behind rather than out in front of Turuva, who was great today. Nor was the straight grubber with the line wide open out wide with Herbert there as well.

Adam scored a try and kicked the field goal, sure, but overall still doesn't bring as much to the team as even Madden at halfback for mine.

Conversely, we are already a bereft of points second last with Doueihi at halfback who refused to play when the coach wanted to do something different, so he needs a metaphorical seat in that car.

I would take the two youngsters, along with a rotation of Madden if no other player is signed, over Adam as part of our spine every day of the week.

I’m not going to begrudge anyone for wanting that. We’re staring at the wooden spoon though. Even if we manage to snare a half over summer, it’s only going to be Sean O’Sullivan or someone in that vein. No one who is going to move the needle significantly.

No don't be so pessimistic....it will be a massive upgrade like Tyrone May, Brodie Croft ,Lachlan Lam ,Aidan Sezer or Jackson Hastings
What could possibly go wrong

History's precedent of Doueihi undermining the decision of an earlier coach not to play him as a half says otherwise, so there is no way that he gets any benefit of the doubt truth wise when his body language doesn't match either.

Do you really think that he wouldn't have played halfback against Canberra if he wasn't moved?
I have absolutely no idea. I don’t need to speculate and get bent and twisted about a situation that I have no inside knowledge of.
History can repeat itself but could just as likely not have

I really hope that Latu can play like an organising half back. We look like we are trying to play eyes up constantly and have no real direction otherwise
We need a good look at Latu HB. & to get as much ball to Samuela early as possible with players ready for the offload.Ala Kikau.

He’s our best weapon and was quiet yesterday. When it works we’ll know we can’t afford to lose them.

Am I imagining it or do we virtually always fail to run support for someone making a break? It often seems to me that players stand back admiring a line break instead of supporting it. Maybe it happens so rarely that they are surprised by it and dont think to react.

really pisses me off about Bula. If he's not going to be backing up everywhere, at least make sure you follow samuela and kpp
